Ah ok sweet so it could still be bearings you think? From my experience wheel bearings have to be pretty shagged to get noticeable movement when working the wheel by hand. Also often its the opposite side than it sounds like
-
Checked right side wheel and no movement I do have an audio clip but it's pretty hard to decipher anything lol
-
Center diff bearings make noise from middle of car by shifter correct? Sounds like it's coming from left front wheel area
-
Don't think so to be honest look to be still pretty high on treadSilly question, but it's not your brake pads being low?
-
220 on body. It's really whining/ mettalic sounding. it's almost like it's the center diff bearings? Can't get it looked at till next week so it's a bit scary having to drive it around it's not super loud but is definitely noticeableWhats the milage, one of mine went at 120,000 and so I just did both. Mine sounded pretty metallic and rumbly..
-
Hmmm just jacked car up and checked left front wheel for any play and there was none vertical or horizontal..... Took wheel off and had a look but couldn't see anything out of place. It does sound like metal on metal so I can't think of what it could be does the noise from about 20khs and gets louder with speed.
Any ideas? -
So that's the hub and carrier or just hub assembly?;this
-
So I'd need to buy both hub and hub carriers?easy to do if you buy the whole hub and bearing assembly, just did both my wagon front bearings. Its in my thread if you want to see photos of things apart. I got my bearings from SubTech in Penrose
-
So my wheels bearings are on the way out by the sounds of it. Whining/high pitched noise increases with speed.
How hard are these to change out on the front? Never done this before and not sure I'd even have the tools to be honest. I assume ordering from partsoq would be the cheapest? And I have to change the whole hub part?

Put 17s on it and ditched the spec b 18s. Sits quite a bit lower now

Will do!Give it a go and report back. The easiest way to find out

So the bh5 should just bolt in sweet?
You get away with the same rated springs in adjustables because you can control the height, do not see the same happening with the fixed perch struts.
-
So whole lot just fit in?
-
Just bumping this slightly so bh5 springs won't fit bl/bp shocks correct?
There is a set of bh5 springs and shocks I would like to buy, would the whole lot swap over or do I still need to swap front top hats? -
Didn't happen after that box was removed did it?
Just being proactive really car does have a minor miss,

He couldn't tell me specifically, would have gone over my head most likely anyways haha.iludez don’t suppose he ellaborated on what that actually means in real terms? Just their way of controlling spark without having to tweak the ECU tune?

Asked a mate who's an importer and said these are mutli point ignition systems. Sees them on a bunch of cars, they are done by orientworks. And they do tuned ecus also such as https://www.croooober.com/en/item/8587762/ECU/Orient-Works-RESULT-MAGIC

It's just such a pain finding wheels where I live and shipping isn't an option because it adds heaps more on top.

Hmmm yeah good point. Pass then, what about running 17s? I have 18s now and the ride sucks with 40 profile tyres. I want to keep minimal arch gap too
Have seen a few over the ditch. Keep in mind that:
1. you'll have to run a lower profile == harsher ride
2. more expensive tyres

Anyone run 19" wheels on a 4th gen? Looking at some tsw spa's that look bloody nice in 19" localish to me and thinking of grabbing them
-
Yeah thought so. Bloody heck damn 4th gens
Slim

What are he chances these would fit in a BL5?You'd be surprised...
Those are actually genuine STI Recaro seats, were offered as an option.
