Only mention of khs was on the cambelt on 1/6/18. Long block was purchased through parts connection receipt says $1899 or something like that, I guess I can call the guy who did the work and find out.Seems weird. Was probably just a complete dressed long block from another wreck that went in and they were trying to do it as cheap as possible. Don't suppose they give the KM’s when both were done?VF38 if it's auto, TD04HLA if manual.
Does seem rather weird though
so would have the td04 since its manual then cool

Looking at an 04 legacy bl5. Had a replacement long block in November 2017, done by Subaru performance repairs in nelson. Then at 1/6/18 cambelt, tensioners etc were done by same place.
Bit confused on this, if a long block was installed why would you replace the cambelt etc only a year later? Surely would have been done when long block was installed. There is receipts for this
Am I missing something here? Also what should the stock turbo be on an ej20x? I assume vf38? -
I'd happily pick it up and package it and ship through trademe it'd be 15 bucksHow much would it be to ship it up do you reckon?

Yours is a revision CSorry to open up a new thread but I have just bought a new legacy BE5 with a weird mix of different revisions.
If anyone could help me interpret this I'd be alot of help because I have to source a couple pistons.

?? Only need a cert if it goes below 100mmJust note - if you want to be fully legal, lowering springs are ok, but if going super low, will need a cert (extra $500ish). Coilovers out of the box need a cert.
From memory, with lowering springs, if its a % lower than stock, it needs a cert.

Yay its all sorted!
Its alive and well again! It was a blown off hose under the intercooler

Started it up just before and its running better. Still running rough but certainly not as bad as yesterday
-
Thanks mateYea. Or any other vac hose, the BPV one is just a common one.If it was me, with the gear I have, i’d pressurize the intake which will straight away hiss like crazy if anything has come off. A mechanic with a smoke machine shouldn't have much trouble finding one if it's there.
Could be anything that effects individual cylinders if it's not an air leak. Coil pack, spark plug, injector. Normally it’ll drive like crap even when loaded up with those issues though, hence the vac leak theory.
At idle the leak is a large percentage of the expected airflow but once at 100-200g/s it'll reach the peak it can flow through the small hose which will mean the expected airflow is off by a considerably lesser percentage which is why it doesn't feel as bad.
-
OK so the Bob hose but down where it connects on the manifold?
-
That's actually what its doing, at 100 its fine but low rpm its wanting to die and pretty rough till past 30ish.A vac hose blown off gives symptoms similar to what you're describing. Typically runs better when at high revs/loads then will struggle hugely at idle/low load.
I’ve blown my BPV hose at the manifold end a few times now. It isn't barbed at all and hard to get a hose clamp onto. Not an issue with a front mount as it’s a 2 second task but not quite that easy with a top mount in place.
Give it a bit of a tug from the BPV end and see what happens
BPV as in bypass valve?
Like the hose on the stock bov on intercooler? -
Definitely a blown hose.
