I\'ve been told to expect anywhere from $600-1200 so thats nearly 2grand all up worst case.

After my car not going for a number of day i started to suspect i fried my ecu so started to look for another one but that was easier said than done. But i did find a link plug an play link and at the time i didn\'t want it as i thought my loom might of been the issue and didn\'t want to fry this one as well. So long story short i got my car going and it wasn\'t the ecu but now i\'m thinking i should get that link as its a plug and play one so would just plug into my loom. I\'m just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them before and whats the costs of getting it tuned and what not, I\'m in Hamilton

turns out that big earth going to the engine or the strut tower was the f*cken issue, removed them and started first pop. i still have a crank angle warning but no check engine light comes on when driving. that\'s right its driving again boosts all good and idles fine. now my dumb question for the day when i was looking for a ecu for mine which i never did find, i found a link plug in play for my ver5 now whats involved in setting one of those up?

there is a big earth cable going onto the block you can see it by the oil filler

I just put a new sony headunit in on sunday and new rcas to try and fix the noise issue, still there tho on my amp but when we install his its fine? ???

ECU looks ok top an bottom he did dissconnet everything and when we installed more sounds in the weekend it all sounded ok apart from getting a lot of noise in the amp even when the volume was on nil

the power cable runs past the ecu and i checked the fuses in the engine bay and under the dash i\'m being asked to check my igniter but i don\'t know what that is or if i have one?

i didn\'t but a friend whose done a lot of installs did on the saturday and i drove around for a couple of days then it stopped working on the thursday and won\'t start anymore.

yeah done that taken the washer bottle out and the 10mm to get the bracket off so i could give them a good looking at will get the multiple meter into them tonight. I was just dumb and bought sounds and now my cars stopped so no point having sounds

well i\'m a noob an i can\'t find a fault or loose wire or short i\'ve swapped the coil pack the cam sensor and crank sensor and tried some different ecu\'s it fired on a gc8 ecu but then stopped and wouldn\'t start again. And i can\'t find a nz new ecu to try and see if that is the issue. I have E3

does anyone know any sparky\'s in hamilton that are mobile? and the prices they charge?

ok will try the meter into the sensors tonight and get back to you. you don\'t think it could be the coil pack? as it getting no spark? or is that linked to the cam sensor.

I guess i\'m just thinking out loud as i have no idea what i\'m doing plus i need another set of hands to look at the volt meter as i turn the key. and i\'m wondering how i\'m going to get to the sparky when my car won\'t even start i don\'t want to try and jump start it as i live on a hill and won\'t be able to just push it back up if it doesn\'t go

reset did nothing :\'( tested the alternator and its putting out 0.13 volts when trying to turn it over i thought it would of started off the battery tho and just stopped once it was out of juice

Would the car fire if the alternator is fried?

changed the angle sensor made no change any ideas?

i\'m car less so will just be walking around to subroo to annoy them they have some cool stuff down there but you have to go down to see it they should really put more stuff online. on a side note has anyone laid sound deadening i know a lot of you have removed it but i got 7meters on the way and just wondering if you have any tips like with the heat wrap. ;D
