  1. Plenty of Legacies have the rear roof spoiler whether E-tune or not, most TS-Rs seem to as well as GTBs.
  2. I think it the first letter after the BH5 which shows the revision but could be wrong, so if anyone knowns more definitely or can give model code for an older BH5? If you give us engine/gearbox codes I can check if those are the same as mine which should also confirm whether its a facelift car or not.
  3. Whats the 'applied model code' on your VIN plate? can find out from that if its a facelift or not. The facelift came out mid 01 I think so some 01 cars are rev C, some are Rev D which was the final facelift of that shape. Mine is BH5D5DD, before that facelift I think would be BH5C5... (or BE...for an RSK rather than GTB)
  4. As far as I know E-tune is just a badge/trim level. Pretty sure that from the 01 facelift all RSK/GTB got the improved engine (EJ208DWEBE for my '02 GTB E-tune) - its not just a different ECU but higher compression, different turbos (VF33/32) and so on as well. VOD is really a non-issue with mine though you can find it with a mis-timed gearchange on part throttle.
  5. ;D Last time I hear that phrase was referring to an R33 Skyline with an LS1 in it...
  6. I did a bit of research into E-tunes when I was buying mine and came up with similar, as far as I know its just a spec level rather than mechanical differences - ie you could start from a basic GTB and choose a whole bunch of option boxes to tick, or just tick "E-tune" for a certain set of them.
  7. Thats correct from the 2001 facelift onwards, but I'm not sure what they had before that - it may have still been EJ206/208 with a different combination of letters following (EJ208DWEBE for mine), but 01/02 has higher compression, different turbos and a few other changes.
  8. Nope, E-tune is just a spec level. My 2002 GTB E-tune has an EJ208 For the OP: You're mixing up different codes - BE5 is your chassis code (mine is BH5 as its a wagon), EJ20... is engine code.
  9. My first Legacy - '90 VZ (had a Leone before it) Then came this - '97 TS-R And now its this one - '02 GTB E-tune
  10. From the figures I've seen an STi is significantly thirstier than an RSK/GTB - I average about 10.5L/100k in my GTB and have had 8.7 from it on long open-road trips without driving that conservatively. However I'd agree that if you give them death all the time they probably will cost you more, being heavier with more compicated bits to go wrong. Personally I have a cheap MX5 for thrashing and the GTB is my nice sensible car which only gets properly caned occasionally.
  11. VOD is really not an issue in my '02 GTB E-tune, unless a gearchange drops revs into that zone while on part throttle (which is easy to avoid). Moving through the changeover on full throttle you wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking for it. Changing at ~6500rpm (peak power) drops the revs to ~5000rpm (peak torque) and actually gives better performance than winding the revs right out.
