For Welli folk I can help with crimping big wire if you're doing a battery relocation or something and need some lugs put on in a way they they'll never come off.

The diff or gearbox oil, presumably.
Or the drawer in his toolbox, then wiggled the solenoid a bit with some needlenose pliers. Then invoiced the caryard for it.

My VF34 and my friend's VF23 both whine at idle-low revs and when you turn it off. Personally I love the sound, it's almost like a little supercharger hiding in there somewhere.
It's just a BB center thing.

That's a major low-ball bargain-hunter price, if it's genuinely tidy they probably won't take you at all seriously on an offer like that.
I picked up a quite tidy 2001 V7 STi for $14750 about 9 months ago, so $12-13k I reckon is still the bottom end of the price on a nice one.

Ok, roughly... I only had a clean-rags-bag handy...
Washed with soft brush and water
Dried with a towel
Cutting compound + coarse rag
Polish/buff with a soft rag
(re-cut the bits you missed, then polish some more)
Pledge + soft rag
then RE-Pledge + soft rag + 10 minutes of elbow grease
Lots better. Can see my reflection in the plastic even. And headlights are noticably whiter + brighter.

My V7 had Motul 5w30 (I think?) in it for a while, ran bloody well when it was fresh, I want to say noticeably better.
Cost an arm and a leg though. Back to edge 5w30 for me.

I've got a Singapore Spec V14 STi I'll sell you. 2 wheels for weight reduction, straight aluminium handlebar steering wheel with independent front and rear braking, handlebar steering wheel gear shift... comes with 2 cranks, both say Shimano on them. It's an STi, honest.

At least they locked some bastards up. If you're lucky they'll have a bunch of priors and get the book thrown at them in sentencing.

Make sure you get actual proof that the cambelt has been done...
Also listen for banging from the rear diff, especially if you turn it hard lock at low low speed, like on a petrol station forecourt.
Other one is brake hard then accelerate and see if the rear diff goes CLUNK on either of those.
Other than that... check the engine temp when you first get in it... if it's cold, don't be too surprised if it runs like a bag of balls for a few minutes, they're forged motors and take a little while to sort themselves out. If it's warm however the guy has obviously pre-warmed it for you and might be trying to hide some nastiness when it's cold.

Ok, tried some random internet advice from a small aircraft forum for polishing plexi windscreens - Pledge furniture polish.
In the short term, RESULT. Headlights look great, plus smell lemony-fresh!
Have to see how well it lasts but for 10 minutes with a cloth it's not the end of the world if I have to re-do it once a month.

I wonder if that polish they use on aircraft windscreens would work. Meant to be pretty damn good.

A friend of mine gained 2hp on the dyno going from a pod to the factory airbox with the resonators taken out of the 'snork'. Just saying.

So today I gave the headlights on my V7 a real quick cut and a damn good polish.
Before they were all cloudy and yellow, now they're almost clear, looks WAY better.
Is this the correct way to get them looking nice?
How can I KEEP them looking good?

Cut and polished the ol' bug eyes. Not yellow any more! Car looks 25 million times better.
Bad feeling I'm going to have to keep doing it over and over though to keep it looking good

I had no idea where it was... noticed a Noel Leemings in the background so searched for that on Google Maps then went looking for the storage tank nearby, plus some train tracks.
And I'd taken the day off work and wasn't doing much, so decided to go for a drive

I have whatever's in a stock V7 STi exhaust sitting around. The rest of the pipe has been chopped off them though, I think.

yea not after coilovers... Ranga thats the height i want i got the tape measure out and 30mm is all i can go on the back I got 17 inch TE37s(yes they are real and dont ask how much) 50mm or lower and its scrape city 40 on the front would be good though
At 35mm drop with 225/45/R17's on standard V7 rims I get quite noticeable inner guard rub when cornering hard...
