  1. It started doing this before the rebuild (Thats why i decided to rebuild it). It was a intermittent problem at first. I've had it on the computer at work (Wadsco Motor World) & found no problems what so ever. I had the shortblock assembled at a shop & the heads checked over at the same place. Did the rest myself. I also wired the wastgate shut with no change.( would just hit boostcut & then do the same thing again.) At the time of the rebuild I replaced all the gaskets & seals, checked the boost lines etc. The exhaust is 3inch from the turbo back with a siamese pipe for the wastegate. Doesn't seem to be blocked. If I pressurize the inlet manifold on the car i get air coming back out the idle control valve but thats at 110psi. Will try a few things & see how it goes. Any more ideas throw them at me! Getting beat by my mates s14 turbo at the drags was shameful!!
  2. Have changed coils & fitted new iridium plugs at the time of rebuild 20k ago. it had this problem before i rebuilt it. also changed the turbo to a vf23 with no change.
  3. Hi guys I've had this problem for a couple of years now & havn't been able to figure it out. It drops boost at 4000rpm to 10psi & feels realy flat & sounds like it has a masive boost leak but i can't find one. If Im doing 80k in 5th gear & floor it it will boost 14-15psi & hold it till 4000rpm. I've been told to check the map sensor & pressure exchange solenoid. Anyone else had a similar problem?
  4. I jst did a compression test & got 130psi all round. Does that seem about right? & judging from the ngk site my plugs are burning perfectly. well not perfectly but u no wot i mean
  5. Yea i just pulled my plugs out but they seem to be burning cleanly. Ill try changing them to genuine 1s & c how it goes
  6. o ok i havnt realy had much to do with v1-2 cars apart from my v2 ra v-ltd. go to town on the thread then. im always up for learning new stuff.
  7. Hi guys ive got no intake leaks the computer seems to be all gud & same with sensors. Im thinking it may b an exaust leak in the up pipe under the heat shield.

  9. thts weird. Mine was running 14psi & went rather well 12.55 1/4 mile on my 3rd go & that was on my old tdo5h but all of a sudden it just started to drop down to 10psi & got the sound like a sandblaster would be the best way to describe it & it only starts making that sound at around 4000-4500 rpm
  10. Just to add sum more info v1-2 ran high compression & low boost while v3 up ran low compression high boost. v1 & 2 sti wrxs also were the most heavily modified by sti from standard
  11. Doesnt throw any codes apart frm the tps every now & then. Its not the best but it was like that well before the problem started. Ive tested the maifold for leaks & its only leaking air out of the icv to the small air box b4 the turbo. Havnt tested the intercooler or turbo to ic pipe yet & the bov seems to be fine. Yup 3" all the way with 2 hotdogs & a cannon. Dont wana change it eitha coz its got a more race car sound than droney. Ill do some more testing tomorrow & get back to u.
  12. Hey guys just goin over some things on the car. if the knock sensor is falty would that retard the timing etc enough to cause the problems im having?
  13. Aaah good point. 1st & 2nd in my car are realy short (3.900) diffs so the turbo probly doesnt have the time to spool that high.

  15. Hi guys. Ive had a problem with my boost for awile now & its realy starting to piss me off. It will start to boost properly & then at about 4500rpm it sounds as if its pushing alot of air or exaust out somewere & feels realy flat (not getting pushed into the seat). Ive now wired the wastegate shut & im still getting the same problem in 1st & 2nd but 3rd,4th & 5th i can hit boostcut no problem. Ive checked for exaust leaks & the turbos mint. Its also not throwing any codes eitha the throttle position sensor isnt the best & its using alot of fuel & backfiring alot Any help would be great. Some specs are vf23 turbo greddy type rs bov rebuilt motor 10k ago 3" from turbo back with a Siamese wastegate pipe. Trust/Greddy boost tap
  16. Ok cool. I mite go with one of these pivot speed meters. Seem to be liked. I had my ecu chiped (re-map) But it got rid of my revcut & 10,000rpm didn't sound so good & also made my cars idle go haywire.
  17. Hi guys. This is probably a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. I saw on the back of the speedo that it has a single wire on it which according to my workshop manual is the ecus speed sensor. I was thinking that if I take it off that it will get rid of speedcut, but I'm unsure if doing this is likely to make the car have a tantrum? Any help would be great thanks. I'm also building a rwd wrx type ra & I'm after a front lip kit if anyone has 1 or knows of someone that is selling 1?
  18. Hey guys thanks again for all the help. Got the car back today ended up the afm was totally stuffed & the o2 sensor wasn't much better & the little switch at the top of the accelerator pedal is sticky so just got to fix that & I'm sorted.
  19. Alarms are piss easy to put in I've put 3 or 4 in so far but sorry I'm in Blenheim but the factory subaru central locking system is weird. Went & talked to an auto sparky & they have to have a relay to sort of trick the central locking.
  20. Trying to install a Uniden **** alarm into my gfs 250T legacy, have hit a speedbump with the central locking. For some reason, the central locking seems to need a constant feed to keep the locks open. Touching and removing the wire from a conductor leads to rapid opening and locking. Any ideas?
  21. Tryd removing the booster hose & its idle just came up alot & was still missing & I removed the bov with no change. I have had it put on the computer at ch motors & the afm was playing up abit so got a new 1 & still no change sadly. Its going into the shop tomorrow to hopefully get sorted out as my fuse with it is a tad short after 2mths of working on it. Thankyou all very much for all of you help & I will post up what it was as soon as I find out.
  22. Ill go through & try everything & Ill get some new injector seals tomorrow or tuesday. Just weird that it went fine for 100km? Thanks to every1 for your help so far.
  23. Standard reg ay. have changed it to another standard one & still same prob. Ill go get a new one this week. Only mods to motor ect are 500hp fuel pump (got it in car 2yrs ago) VF23 turbo (V3) cold air intake greddy bov 3" exhaust from turbo Fully rebuilt 400km ago with standard everything
  24. Yea it was but the chip is now out & the grey 380cc injectors are back in, have been since Tuesday. IAC= idle air control?
  25. Dont think thats it ay. Its running very rich. So its something to do with the fuel system I think as it runs good when under any kind of boost but it sounds like its drowning at idle & steady revs. Ill try taking the hose off & see how it goes.
