  1. Haha, check out this bad boy... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/700/auction-281252343.htm What a piece. Look how small it is against that people mover
  2. How / why is the power delivery so different? Just because of twin turbo instead of single? Or is the RSK much heavier too? What is the benefit of using twin over single turbo? Sorry for the n00b questions, this RSK vs WRX business has intrigued me for a while...
  3. I heard the RSK-B4's are 206kw - is this right? The same as an STi? Surely this can't be right, my GDA WRX (non STi) is quicker than my mates RSK...? Or are the RSK's just heavy as fuck?
  4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Would be pretty gay if we all drove around in the same car.
  5. Definitely prefer the bug eyes over the blob eyes personally.
  6. On this note, I've got this squeak coming from my rear right wheel on my WRX GDA. It only happens when I'm going slow, like through car parks etc. All my wheels were rotated at my last alignment, but this is still happening. Any hint at what would this be? Or would I need to get somebody to have a proper look at it?
  7. Bugger, was hoping for somewhere closer to the 09 :-\ Only got 84k on the clock atm, so still a wee while to get something sorted...
  8. Where did you get this done mate? Sounds very reasonable compared with what I've heard.
  9. It's sh*t, but everybody knows the law, innit.
  10. That is fucked man, worthy of lynching those mother fuckers.
  11. Hi guys/girls I am looking at getting the spoiler and badges removed from my 2002 WRX, then having the holes filled and resprayed. Does anybody have any recommendations on where to go in Auckland to get this done? Any idea on costs involved? Cheers
  12. Yeah, Strong for Isuzu are awesome. I got a control arm, sway bar link, rack end and guard liner for like $300. Real helpful people too.
  13. It's not about being bothered or not for me. If I knew how to do it properly I would happily do it, but from what I've heard you can seriously **** your paint if you don't know what you're doing. I'd much rather part with $150
  14. Just wondering if anybody has any recommendations on where to get a cut and polish in Auckland, and how much I should expect to pay?
  15. Thanks for your help guys, just got this all sorted. ;D Turns out I had in fact wired the dimmer circuit into the earth on the headunit. I didn't even need to wire an earth because the chassis of the headunit conducts with the chassis of the car when you mount it in place. Thanks again guys, much appreciated. -DMJ
  16. Wish I knew about these yesterday [quote name='Scoobydoo said: Also that extra "ground plug" you say you have, is probably the aerial? Your headunit can also ground through that, but I wouldn't use that as the only ground. Na it's not the aerial - the manual lists it as the 'rear ground terminal'. This is a separate output from the negative cable which you wire into the chassis. I think my POA is to verify that the cable I am using as the ground is in fact the ground (and not the dimmer), then also ground the stereo through this 'rear ground terminal'.
  17. Yeah was just trying to clarify whether negative and earth were the same thing in a car. Cheers Just noticed that as well as the negative/earth cable, this new stereo also has an additional ground plug at the back of the stereo which the original didn't have. Will try wiring this into the metal too. Thanks again for your help, will let you know how I get on.
  18. Sorry, just to clarify car wiring.. Where does the earth cable go? I thought cars ran a negative earth, so the earth and negative were both wired to the chassis of the car. Is this not the case? Where does the earth get wired to if not?
  19. Awesome, thanks for your replies. I'll check out the grounding tomorrow.. Thinking I may have used this dimmer circuit as ground. The existing plug was a different shape than the new stereo has, so basically had to cut it off and join the corresponding cables together.
  20. Hi all Not a problem with my sooby, but my girlfriends toyota... Hopefully someone here will be able to help.. So I installed a new stereo in her car yesterday. All was fine until we left my mates place at dusk and flicked the headlights on.. a fuse blew which ran the taillight circuit, but the headunit keep running. I replaced this fuse when I got home from work today, turned the head lights on and sure enough the fuse blew again, so I assumed that this circuit was being overloaded. I decided to wire the head unit into the cigarette lighter circuit instead, which also worked fine until the headlights were turned on, then again the tail light fuse blew. The new stereo is using the same constant, switch and ground cable that the existing stereo was using, and I have joined all cables with proper cable joiners. Has anybody had any experience with this, or do I need to get a professional? Thanks in advance, DMJ
