I don’t think that they work on pre 96 Subaru, something to do with since all it does is change signals coming and going to the ecu, it has to be the right signals. I have one its ok, it does let the boost move around a bit, admittedly slowly, but you might lose/gain a psi every week or two
Do you know an easy way to identify the short steering rack? as my new v8 sti has a "quick steering sti" sticker on the back, so maybe it has the short rack as well ???
could be better, i have had as low as 9l/100kms, with a v4 wrx with a ra box, on a long trip, and can get an easy 10.5 just driving to work etc. I also just got 10.6 with my new v8 sti, when driving it back from rotorua
I the most technical terms it does require certification is the drive shaft is not the one that came with the car. I know that you will be using an OE drive shaft for a manual Subaru, but that is not the way our rules work! However if you went from an auto to a 6 speed gearbox that would be legal is they use the same length drive shaft, however I doubt anyone would ever pick you up on this.
What does the v8 spec c get/lose vs a normal v8 sti?
What i know:
spec c got the vf36 turbo, which has better bearings than a vf37
thinner (or alloy) roof and boot metal
less sound deadening
thinner glass
Larger intercooler water sprayer
2540mm wheel base (vs 2525) with extra caster
50L (vs 60L) baffeled petrol tank
No side skirts
13:1 steering rack (vs 15:1)
optional wind up windows
roof vent
More boost?
Harder shocks?
nicer wheels (BBS)?
Anything else?
Its not like another car will not use any fuel, the best you can really expect is a saving of 1-2L per 100km (my experiance). I would rather drive a wrx over a shit box for a few bucks a week
I just had Lone Star in Invercargal, it was good, and the Speights ale house is always good every where else in the country and I think I will be going there when I am come back through
Well I went to the Waihola tavern, because it was accross the road and the boss dident want to drive into town, grrr. I will be staying in Dunedin for a week in early march so might try some of them out then
I am staying in Dunedin for one night and am wanting to know a good restaurant to go visit, any style of food considered.
I look forward to your recommendations
