how do i tell what version it is? ive been told its 5 and ive been told its 6. also was told to specifically get a v5/6 sit ecu and the plugs are all the same as the current standard wrx ecu

I have a 99 wrx (v5/6 im guessing) and i got a v5/6 STI type R ECU for it, swapped them over and the car wont fire. It chokes like its trying to start but wont actually kick in. I have been told that i have yellow sti injectors so it should go sweet. any help would be much appreciated cheers club
