  1. Is that price for a rebuild kit for carb? Thats a similar price to one I almost got.
  2. or if you cant be bothered making one go down to a place like shuck and they can make one up for you. Ive had a few gaskits/ seals made by them before. Pretty well priced. You can get the gasket paper thru them too if needed.
  3. Stuff modern WRC now, I say lets Bring Group B back.
  4. This totally suxs if it does happen http://www.3news.co.nz/Report---NZ-dumped-from-world-rally-calendar/tabid/415/articleID/143225/Default.aspx Tue, 23 Feb 2010 5:16p.m By Shaun Summerfield Rally New Zealand could be about to disappear in a cloud of dust. 3 News has discovered that proposed changes to the World Rally Championship don’t include New Zealand. It's a driver’s favourite - but Rally New Zealand doesn't have the same appeal for the championship's promoters. “We were disappointed to read that, because the reality is that once you see something like that there is always fire behind the smoke that you see,” says Chris Carr, Rally NZ Chairman. With the more financially lucrative venues being favoured by the promoters, North One Sport, the iconic Acropolis and Monte Carlo rallies are also missing from the calendar. “It's obviously a commercial thing - we don't have the money. We should have the money, the Government should be putting the money to ensure we get this event back,” says Neill Allport, former New Zealand Rally Champion. Rally NZ is already reduced to biennial status, sharing a date with Australia. Now the plan is to scrap the rotation system in favour of a 14-round permanent calendar. Australia gets the nod, New Zealand is gone. “This is one of the longest running events in the WRC - and has incredible television audience overseas so it's a battle we need to fight,” says Carr. Organisers were already doing all they could to keep the event here. Even shifting this years rally from Hamilton to Auckland, hoping to make it more attractive to overseas audiences and more palatable to promoters. But it seems even the City of Sails wasn't enough to clinch the deal. 3 News
  5. Ive seen one or two on trademe. Its just a rebadged whatever it is... Im not as intrested unless it comes with a Boxer or can be fitted with a boxer lol
  6. If thats what I think it is its a 1400 wagon and is smaller than the 1600 wagon so parts wont fit. DRFVDR do you have a pic of the front? If that was the blue 1400 wagon then its pretty much the only one left in NZ But I have seen a pic of a white 1600 wagon in that same wrecking yard.
  7. oooh thats going to be a hard one.... Ive never seen a good one or even one at a wreckers. Only seen them used as paddock hacks and were all full of rust and smashed up. I will try keep a look out for one for you.
  8. How much you want to spend? What about the next shape of legacy with the 6 in it? could get it with the 6speed manual? Did that shape come with the 3.6? or is it the newest shape with that engine?
  9. Senior Toyota designer Cech estimates than the bonnet is around 100mm lower than it would be with a conventional four-cylinder engine in place, but cautions: "It won't be quite as low for the production car. Unfortunately, we have to raise it maybe 50mm to meet pedestrian crash protection legislation." Omg I cant wait for this. Appity they have to make the bonnet line 50mm higher.
  10. The Toyota FT-86 concept will be a production reality by 2012, arriving in the UK with a target price of less than £20,000 for the entry level model. To find out more about the car, which rumours suggest will be formally confirmed for production at the upcoming Geneva motor show, Autocar sent Steve Sutcliffe to meet its designer, Jaromir Cech. See Autocar's exclusive Toyota FT-86 pictures In the metal, says Sutcliffe, the charm of the FT-86 is achingly apparent. For starters, it's no more than two-thirds of the size you'd expect it to be. The Audi TT - not a big car - dwarfs it. Beyond that, the most striking aspect of the car is how low the bonnet line is and how snugly the whole car seems to hug the ground as a result. This is because the engine is derived from Subaru's famous flat-four 2.0-litre 'boxer' unit. See Autocar's exclusive Toyota FT-86 video Senior Toyota designer Cech estimates than the bonnet is around 100mm lower than it would be with a conventional four-cylinder engine in place, but cautions: "It won't be quite as low for the production car. Unfortunately, we have to raise it maybe 50mm to meet pedestrian crash protection legislation." Mechanically, the car is fairly conventional. Suspension is probably wishbones at the front and almost certainly multi-link at the rear, transmission a six-speed manual and the chassis conventional rear-wheel drive. What will make it special, claims Toyota, is the ultra-light kerb weight, which may be as low as 1250kg in production trim, its purity of response, its handling agility and the fact it will have a proper limited slip differential. Q&A with Jaromir Cech, Toyota senior designer Steve Sutcliffe blog - Toyota FT-86 - what you see is what you'll get Another distinguishing feature will be its interior, and in particular its dashboard, which may even include software that provides data acquisition for a host of circuits. Sutcliffe concludes that the FT-86 is a deadly serious attempt to take a slice of the lucrative affordable coupe market , as well as recapture and repackage the DNA that made Toyota's cars so popular in the past. "The sooner it goes into production, the better," he says. For the full Toyota FT-86 story, buy this week's Autocar magazine, on sale now. Toyota FT-86 on video - Autocar.co.uk
  11. Yup Ive used that a few times before. I pulled a few big dents out lol.
  12. silly boy! I think he blown the engine up twice lol in his RXII with in 600kms. 1st was a set off forgdys then a 2nd hand set of EA82 turbo pistons. he ran a bigger hybred turbo but the same factory ecu :
  13. It could be a possibly.. The same guy ran Forged pistons in his RXII coupe till he blown it up due to not running it in.
  14. Its forged? I new it was it was newly rebuilt and hotted up but didnt didnt no it was forged.
  15. So basically fit the EJ18 heads to the EJ22 block? Or would I have to use EJ22 and have the hole borded in the back of the head? to fit the distributor in.
  16. That could be a go? how would you go about fitting a distributor to a EJ22? (Remember my legacy has the distributor) How much hassel would be involved?
  17. No AFMs to worry about... as far as I can tell.. I cant see one lol
  18. Down low theres no power but tell you what once the Revs are up it really suprises me. Its like a completely different car lol. Maybe I will sell it and pick up a EJ22 engined legacy. Cant be bothered converting it to a EJ22.
  19. Dad got about 45mpg driving from chch to dunedin and back driving his 1994 1500 Front Wheel Drive Auto Impreza
  20. What fuel eccomony should a 1800cc Legacy wagon get? Its a 1990 5speed gearbox with Part time 4WD. Its a SPFI EJ18 JDM Import. I always leave it in Front Wheel Drive. Ive only just got 27MPG so far. I was hoping it would get better fuel eccomony than that. Thanks
  21. Ive must amitt I would love to try see how much power you could get out of a 1500cc Subaru motor ;D I would go with one of those later model EI15? The late model flat 4 with varible valve timing. Would fit into the 1400 with out having to cut the body rails
  22. Ive heard from some some one that owned his own business and he charged some payment of about 20K or so on his credit card. As soon as he did it the credit card company kept hounding him to paying it off. Only a few days or so after he got it. And they wanted it paid in full then : He was only using the credit card to pay some lawer fees or something like that. Luckly he had the cash to pay it off right away since he used the credit card for convenance instead of any thing else. He never had any problems paying it off before. So is it worth it putting it on a credit card ???
