  1. Ive seen some Retnas with 1500, 1600 engines too. there was one for sale at a car sales. it was mint but the price they wanted was so high that you could spend another couple of grand and buy a type R :
  2. I dont like either lol I like the original better
  3. When I free up some cash I will go and get me a Lancaster 6. its almost every thing I want in a wagon
  4. Im not in my DL 1400. i always have guys say oooh nice classic subaru. Never got pulled over in my GSR 1400. but i would think i look bit more bogan than Boy racer in it lol
  5. I Hate pre paid on fuel stations. When i was driving my GSR back from Auckland i stoped in at this BP and it had Prepaid. Went in paid about 50. fuelled it up as much as i could. Then i had to go back in side and ask for the remander of my cash back. then leave. means things take double the time etc
  6. I was wondering about that. Cause as long as i remember the BPs in Chch has never had a shortage of 98. I knew Nrth Island had shortages and heard it was that the boat was delayed. was thinking if it all came from Tauranga then we would had been hit with shortages too? Maybe we have alot more storage here in CHCH? BP did Increase the fuel tank storage size about 2002 or sometime round there
  7. Haha lol i so wanted 1 to fit to my Black XT6 so wanted to make it look like KITT. Every one who saw my XT6 kept telling me how it looked like KITT so matching light would help it look more so
  8. I would even doubt if you could get that. If you found the right guy then maybe. They are pretty rare. rust has got most of the 1600 shape, They seem to rust a bit more than the 1400 for a reason i do not really know of ???. so by the looks of things it would have been garaged alot of the time. Which is a good thing It should be a 5spd so should give slightly better fuel eccommony
  9. I have heard of that. The fuel tanks over here are now owned by BP and they own all the storage tanks. They store Bp, shell, caltex etc Used to be owned by caltex but they must had desided to sell them in the 1990s. I guess it depends how many tanks there are in the storeage area for the region. if theres not enought then i guess who ever owns the tanks whould have the priotory over what fuel is stored there. so if theres only storage for one lot of 98 then of course BP would hold there lot there and supply other brands with there gas Is all the 98 in the storage tanks in Tauranga shipped out from there to other locations in NZ or is that 98 only for the Nrth island/ auckland region?
  10. Yes most likely would be front wheel drive. Only the wagons came in 4WD as a option.
  11. Its hard to say whats its worth. It looks to be in pretty good condition Sadley the older subaru stuff isnt worth as much as a Toyota/Datsun of the same age. Did you have it for sale on Trademe early this year? If it was the ute verson of the 1600 shape it be worth alot more.
  12. I asked sadley they dont have a listing for any SVX stuff. Good to know that they are a good brand
  13. If they did start crushing cars then 2nd hand parts would dry up pretty quickley depending on how many got crushed. Then parts would become much dearer etc. imagine a whole load of GT/RS Legacys/ WRXs etc Going to get crushed and gone 4eva
  14. I would love to get a FF1 Been looking for one over 6 or so years. they are so bloody rare. I know of two that are in garages. They owned them for the last 20 to 30 years and wont sell You Could maybe import one from Japan? aslong as its still has papers.
  15. The only Major probs with my subarus have been from perished hoses. 1st one was my vortex. had this lil hose that went from under the inlet manifold and to the block. had to take every thing off to replace that hose. then I had my original 36year old fabric hoses of the GSR sprung a leak. I need to replace the original 35 year old bottom hose on my raditor on my DL lol. Just got to get time to replace it. Its a tad dodgy
  16. Thats one thing the SVX guys still havnt been able to work out. Loads of research is being put into it by a few guys. Electric water pumps have been tried but havnt worked so far for improved cooling.
  17. Ive got a quick question is there a place in chch that makes custom nolathane bushes? I need some replacement 1s for my rear diff for SVX. (svx ones are different for legacy). svx ones are bigger than legacy ones. and getting some from the states will cost a bloody fortune.
  18. I want to convert my SVX to manual but theres alot more work involved in doing it on a SVX. I wait till i can get hold of a 6spd then attempt it
  19. Ive seen pic of grand wagon with eg33 in it. thats 1 of the 1s from oz. same guy did a eg33 brumby, 2.7L brumby and im not sure but mite had been building a EZ30 forster for a custorer?
  20. Ive never seen a dual range in a forster. Some legacys came with them. but they are very few and far between. I thought of picking up 1 out of a 2006 leagacy ages ago. it was pretty cheap. In the usa they didnt get dual range on EJ stuff. I dont even think some JDM models came with DR i mite be wrong on that tho ???
  21. lol. as far as i know no one has fitted a eg33 in a legacy here in nz? so you maybe the 1st? been done a few times in oz
