  1. Got similar qoutes (both about 2k) for some paintwork repairs on my car form BodyWorks in Petone and AutoBodies in Wellington. Can anyone vouch for their work and say which they\'d go with? Eddie
  2. I wonder if the Subaru mesh grille (107-004-008 on JapanParts.com) will fit my car... http://www.japanparts.com/images/ImageFromDB.php?base=1&no=7895
  3. dacerx: Actually, Corazon *do* make a grille for the 3.0R. It\'s on their website (if you can read Japanese) ;D
  4. Hey guys, Where can I source Corazon parts in NZ? (specifically, I\'m after a front grille for a GT.B Spec Legacy MY04).
  5. I've got a 2004 GT-B sedan (MY05) (also with 18" wheels). I had my Bilsteins revalved and rebuilt. Wasn't worth doing IMHO. I think if I want a car that drives like an Mercedes/BMW I'll buy one next time.
  6. Well, I ended up getting the shocks revalved. After sending up all 4 to Autolign in Auckland, turns out only the front shocks can be rebuilt (and revalved). Apparently my rear shocks were OK but my fronts needed rebuilding. After getting the fronts rebuilt and revalved to soften and the car back on the road, my experience was that "it made a small difference but certainly not worth what I paid" (ended up costing me around $1200 all-up including labour, wheel alignment etc).
  7. Sorry to dig up an old thread - Dave, did you end up geting them revalved?
  8. Wow - thanks very much for the generous offer! Actually I think you're right though, I will get absolutely raped on freight for 4x wheels (I'm guessing at least $40 for each wheel return, probably more). So your suggestion of doing a day trip is probably a good one. I'll get in touch with them and see if they think it's feasible. Cheers!
  9. Hey, I'd quite like to get my rims sent to Rimrite in Palmy to repair some minor curb damage (btw does anyone know roughly what this might cost per wheel)? Anyway my problem is that I don't really have any other wheels to put on the car while mine are away being fixed. It's not crucial if I can't drive the car for a week or so. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  10. Me too Only thing it's missing is cruise control. But Eco mode makes up for that... kinda...
  11. Any recommendations for the best place to take my car in Wellington then?
  12. Well I took it back to Armstrong. A day and a half later I got a phone call letting me know there was a problem with one of the spark plugs that they replaced at the 100k service. Picked up the car yesterday, drives nicely. No charge. Overall I'm happy...
  13. Neo: That sounds exactly like what mine is doing. Armstrong say they checked and replaced the plugs at the 100km service though.
  14. I had the air/fuel ratio sensor replaced just under a year ago. That's not the same thing is it?
  15. Hey Guys, Recently (I think it started just after I had my full 100km service done, can't be sure) my car has started hesitating/surging quite nastily when accelerating rapidly. Any clues as to what it is likely to be? It's worse when the car is cold. I'm always running it on 95+ octane gas (usually Caltex) Cheers, Eddie
  16. Yeah have seen the option Beveridge offer but I'm after one as close as possible to the factory remote (i.e. with unlock/lock/boot buttons). So will give GT Mechtronix a go, failing that will fork out for the genuine one. Cheers for the suggestions though I'll report back with my findings.
  17. Really? - Because the email I got from GT Mechtronix would suggest otherwise. There is nothing that cannot be reversed engineered and duplicated, given enough persistence. I'll of course get it in writing before parting with any money however.
  18. Mmm, price for a genuine Subaru one from Wingers is $523 incl cutting...
  19. Well, in case anyone else is looking, it looks like these guys will do one to suit my car: http://www.gtmechtronix.co.nz Their part-number is GTKR120, they quoted $255.00 incl cutting/programming and GST. Seems pretty reasonable to me. The website is god-awful, but I think they might be quite good at what they do. So I think I'll give them a go!
  20. I told them it's a 2004 Legacy GT, BL5 manual. They didn't ask for any more info, so I'm guessing they had everything they needed to give me a quote? I don't know the first thing about cars, so I'm really in their hands here.
  21. The price isn't the issue, I was just confused by the remark that these cars don't have a cambelt - when the dealer was including a cambelt kit in the service...
  22. My BL5 is coming up for it's 100,000km service. Been quoted $2000-$2300 for full service including 'cambelt'. That's Winger Subaru and Armstrong Subaru. Cam belt kit $395.00 ... ???
  23. Right, well it's now not working again. Uploaded with ImageShack.us That's the internals of my clock. It works if you apply pressure to the PCB close to where the part of the display that shows the time is.
  24. Are you sure it was resistor 510? I can find a resistor 51.. But nothing nearly as high as 510. Where abouts approximately was it? Is it an SMD or regular mount resistor?
