  1. hi guys, currently have a 2003 GT B Spec wagon, looking to upgrade to the 2009+ model, either 3.6 litre outback or 2.5gt legacy. 1 - whats the 2.5 litre turbo engine like compared to the ej20 from the 2003 shape legacy? reliability? fuel economy? 2 - any other issues/comments with the 2009+ shape? ideally I'm hoping for a bit more power and better economy. 3 - anyone with a 3.6 litre outback want to comment on that experience? thanks Dave
  2. Anyone know what the differences are from a normal 2009+ 2.5gt? Thanks Dave
  3. The only problem with the H6 is it uses quite a bit more gas round town than the bp turbo. off the line the H6 is a bit slower as well, the 6 cylinder is really smooth though, nice to drive. Dave
  4. Oh ok, I'll have a look. Surely it's both the springrate and damping rate? I'm going to measure the springs with my friends 3.0R and see what the difference in spring diameter is. If anyone has a GT (non-bspec) legacy that wants to measure theirs we could see if they're different.
  5. Getting back to the topic, does anyone know whether these bilsteins can be revalved easily to become softer in damping?
  6. Maybe the suspension for NZ was softer than the JDM versions? That confirms my suspicions that GT (non B-spec) suspension could be the way to go for me.
  7. I test drove a GT legacy not B spec and the suspension was about right, they must've just cranked up the B spec model.
  8. I had a version 4 sti coupe and sedan, I think it's harder than those cars damping wise. Could be me getting older as well! it's the bilsteins in combination with the 18" tyres as well, the bridgestones are pretty hard apparently on the sidewalls, will change brands when tyres wear out. It's more the fronts, the rears seem to be not too bad. It's more that it should be a much more comfortable car than it is, not meant to be like an STI etc. do you have a link of where it says rev a legacies harder suspension etc? I wonder if the bilsteins can be revalved or easier just to swap them out?
  9. Mine must be revision A then late 2003. I think I'll swap it eventually for revision b or standard gt suspension, the damping is just ridiculously hard! Should be a comfortable car but unless you're on the smooth motorway, its just too hard. On the plus side, it handles really nice, must hard decent swaybars and springs too. Dave
  10. haha polyarkos, nah I'm ok, will change to another brand of tyres soon when these wear out... on the plus side, this car handles awesome as for a semi-heavy wagon, turn in around corners is great!
  11. 215/45/R18's at the moment, I need new tyres soon so thats a good point. Wouldn't it stuff up the speedometer etc though? Guess it wouldn't change it by much if I went to 50 or 55 profile. Dave
  12. Hi Guys, Just bought a BP Legacy GT B Spec with the 18'' wheels etc and it's great but the suspension is really hard! It's all standard by the way not aftermarket suspension. Is there anyway of getting the suspension a bit softer? I.e can the bilstein be revalved or something easily? Don't want to go down to 17" wheels to help it cause really love the 18's! Sorry just shows how old I'm getting!! Dave
  13. Depends on the condition, I just bought the GT-B Spec version and auto wagon of yours for $14k with a spare set of 18" mags. Had done 109kms but mint as condition, was grade 4.5 when imported in November 2010. Selling it under a month, that's the real problem really, hard to sell quickly and get a good price at the moment. I found the dealer cars were crap as condition, smoky, seats ripped, rubbish really compared to the car I bought. Dave
  14. you can get the anycar thing for this now to connect to ipod/iphone. see here: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,24094.0.html
  15. funkytown - do you know where you can get them rechromed?
