Legend that will do nicely. I'm not married to the Ultimates so happy to have someone who knows what there talking about recommend for me.
Gosh I miss Manfeild... I was chatting to my WOF guy today and he reckons the 6-7 odd years hes now been doing my WOFs I have done less than 1500 KM combined on them. I didnt, but I do now and it made me a bit sad.
Wifey and I made a deal today I am going to spend a few bucks on the car over the next year so might see me around a bit although Manfeilds a hike now. Maybe if Flatnats is there next year I could trailer queen her down.
I'll come up from Chch if you trailer down to Manfield, deal?

Did a kerb eat it??
On a trip to a day hike, I reversed into a car park, with a bit of a dip.. I did not realise how big the dip was and pulled the lip off when leaving. The lip was a cheap, not the best fitting one from ebay so I'm not worried and I'm liking the cleaner look TBH

Nearing two years later, same car, no more lip:

Over the weekend I drove my WRX for the first time in... 4 months.. and proceeded to rip the front lip off and the clutch started slipping.. so back in the garage it goes until I can afford to replace the clutch.
The lip, I'll bin in and replace it with an EZ lip at some point.. the bumper has cracking through it so I may get it repainted.
Still makes cool noises when not on full boost though
Car is getting a new clutch at the moment.. plus the rocker covers, rear main seal and the PCV valve and hoses replaced. Hopefully pick it up a in a couple of weeks.
Front lip is gone..and I kind of prefer the cleaner look.

In Hokitika our local BP has dropped 95 octane entirely and now offers 98. We also have NPD 100+. I think BP werent selling enough 95 with NPDs killer prices.
Awesome news ! Now if only BP in Greymouth would drop 98 to be comparatively priced to NPD 100

Sadly us Canty guys aren't too active on here these days.. but if you're looking for a workshop, I'd recommend these guys:
- SAS- M45
- Crowesport
There is a few Chch Subaru Facebook Pages which are pretty active.
If you're looking to DIY, I don't think its' too hard, just very fiddly being a Twin Turbo

There's about 2 on the market that aren't pieces of complete s***.
The non-brand ones are utter garbage and will collapse if you pull too much vacuum through them.
Can confirm you get some wooshy noises when on song.
Can confirm non-brand ones are garbage, my one is. Was a nightmare to install and lots of adapters to make vac lines fit. Thankfully it doesn't collapse under pressure.

Why not just swap the muffler over to a adrenalinR one at a local shop.
Save some money and less OEM crap to store.
Second this, the Genome is quite a big muffler and the AdrenalinR's sound bloody good.
Or if your car still has a mid cat, get that removed.

Haha yeah I just feel dumb as, I hate doing things like that.
Just out of curiosity, I am always weary that the trans could go, especially since I have a 200,000km vehicle. What is the best option to fix at a decent price. I don't want to spend 4k on a full STI swap, so do you just buy a used 02 trans? Or is it better to buy a used 03 - 05 trans? Or any other options?
Drive it, enjoy it, worry about the trans when something happens - K's really aren't everything, service history plays a big role.. If it does go pop, just throw in another, or even try find a 5sp STi box with the right ratio to match your rear diff and get back to it.
My car has done 147,000k and 4th gear is crunchy, not the end of the world and it still gets a beating when I drive it.

Cheers for the update! Awesome to see 98/100 becoming more common eh? My WRX may almost make it from Wanaka to Hoki on a tank of 98
