Hey zach Did you end up getting to the bottom of this? Having similar issues and just trying to work out whats going on

I have a 1999 b4 rsk and the steering is acting up. I've only just bought the car so I don't know how long its been doing it, but whenever im turning (direction doesn't matter) it softly jerks itself towards center. Also the steering at times feels heavier than others and makes a sound at startup and also has a bit of whine. Tried changing the belt but still does it. Is it my p/s pump? Had the car at winger today for some work and they were unable to diagnose it ??? Cheers
