  1. I'm wanting to tint my windows in my car and have it looking tidy for that black on black look. Came across pre cut window tint on trademe... has anybody used this?

Also has anybody done the rear window before? Hard getting it smooth over the demister stuff?

  2. The kid who crashed into me about 4 months ago has gone to court recently and pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving resulting in injury. He was going AT LEAST 70 in a 50 area and a lady pulled out in front of him. He hit her then deflected into us before hitting a light pole & fence.

I had to do a formal statement and the police werent interested in the lady at all. Full blame seems to have gone to the kid who wasn't insured, wrote 2 cars + his own car off and destroyed a fence and light pole.

This kid will now have a huge debt over his head for the next few years all because he was probably late for work and sped up down a long main road.

Speeding is a big gamble because you never know what other people will do & i think the punishment should be more

  3. u could get one off trademe pretty cheap. i had to swap my loom over when i put my engine in because it was cut. its a tight fit getting the plugs through the intake manifold but its still less hassle than taking it off and replacing gaskets

  4. Doesnt have a functioning aeriel at the moment. Took old headunit out and the aeriel was hardwired in IIRC. I just have it pushed right down and listen to cds it hasnt bothered me enough yet for me to fix it. Its actually been good without it shooting up and down every time i turn the key on and off

  5. i bought my car from a dealer in chch and it did a thing similar about 20mins into the 8 hour drive home to invers. after aa arrived it started again and i made it all the way home before it died again.

the fuel pump wiring under the back seat had burned out cutting power to the fuel pump whenever it felt like it

  6. Car: 1992 legacy rs

    Mods:

Things u like: tidy body, nice black exterior and interior, were the coolest cars around when i got my licence

What you dislike: heater is bypassed atm, cel #24, rear spoiler is ugly, ugly looking/sounding silencer welded into the exhaust since recent wof

Why you brought it: got from caryard with 149k 4 years ago completely stock. wanted a reliable awd turbo

What your future plans are: buy an rs-ra and sell the rs

  7. Its quite possible mate. I have cooked two mazdas, a sigma and my legacy in the past 5 years due to split hoses and radiator tanks :(

Check coolant for oil, start engine with radiator cap off and see if it bubbles up out of header tank, may notice a sound after driving it like someone is inside your dash smoking a bong, steam coming out your exhaust, car may not run/idle nicely.

Those are some signs, but a mechanic can do tests to see if you have blown a hg

  8. i had a pretty bad oil leak coming from drivers side last week. thought it was a rocker cover gasket so i did that and it still leaked.

The mechanic had a good look at it and replaced some washers in the oil return and it hasnt leaked a drop since. i had smoke coming out of my bonnet vent and bad oil smell too

  9. sorry to hijack but.. i have this same problem too. Got CEL code 24 popping up

Tried a cleaned up iacv off my old engine which fixed the cel for a while but idle is still high once car warms up (1500-2000rpm). On cold startup it idles nice and smooth at 900 or so

I'm going to try a iacv that was in a huge box of legacy spares i got for $36 on trademe on sunday (woohoo).

Its the only black cloud hanging over my car at the moment so if that fails its going in to the dealership $$$$$

I have put a nearly complete auto engine in my manual legacy, does anyone know if the sensors are different or anything? I used my manual engine loom as the auto one was cut anyway

edit: still have manual transmission, looks kinda like i have said i did an auto conversion
