describe 90% of boyracer in 1 sentence?

as long as ya happy haha

td04 spools really quickly 2600 is NORMAL, id say these headers have done little to nothing to your car, a leaking uppipe will give approx 30% powerloss if its really bad...
mates got a td04 wrx, they are not slow cars an keeps up with my td05 sti... (well still not the same car but not a hell of alot of difference really)
should only have increased mid range power I think... is what redline told me
Still think you should have gone with sti headers but hey as long as ya happy! an you also can't complain about the warranty thats definitely a bonus eh!
-
if you look on here you might find one over the next couple months...
failing that theres trademe?
could also ring around subaru wreckers to get an idea of what is needed an how much you would expect to pay
-
been a while since I filled it tbh, might be 50 but think it was like 42l a fill so assumed it was 45

recently sold a v8 scoop for like 120$ or something
TM is best bet unless you want genuine but someone on here might have one
p.s we have a sell parts an wanted parts section

my stock 95sti with a 45L tank gets around 350km to a tank of heavy driving around town an up the summit road in CHCH. probably push 400 if I nana it but theres no fun in that?
BUT
When I went to picton last new years I got just under 600km from the tank an that included alot of crazy fast passing lanes an a fair bit of hilly driving towards the picton area
I think I did just under 500km an had 1/4 tank left, which got me another 70kms farting around the sounds (very stop start sharp corners an up an down hills)
so really could probably get 600 easy if it was nice simple driving no boosting an stuff?
SOMEONE should start a who has the most kms per tank thread?
-
I was thinking of buying the same headers but didn't. Stock sti headers will do the trick last a lifetime an you know they will fit perfectly to uppipe. I replaced the uppipe myself an its quite easy to do, and im about to do basically the same job again for a 3rd time. Go genuine unless your rebuilding your block I reckon
also if you are looking at power gains I would look into a new downpipe or a catless exhaust. downpipe is probably the cheapest easiest mod todo an will give decent power gains. you could also go boost tap fuel line mods but would leave that for another day
-
well they were pretty nice people there tbh .hard to be mad at people who are smiling an talking car mods with ya haha little did I know the extent of the damage done
My cars rubbish anyways so im not to worried, im focusing on getting an impreza coupe now gona build one up with a wide body if I can ever find one that is >.<

Yea I thought the whole situation was abit odd... I have no idea how they got the gearbox jammed an they ended up paying someone else to open an fix it.... an yea the axle thing had me alil stumped, he had it at the workshop an showed me where it had broken(on the joint piece to the cv or wat ever) reckoned it was just a matter of time before it broke..
now I can see I got ripped off an f'd over quite badly.... over a year later now kinda abit to late eh, wish I could go back in time an spend my money elsewhere! :-[
I will always use Tony from RDL now by the way.went there the other week to have a chat seems like a good chap.
The same garage also damaged some wheels my brother took to them to get tyres off.1200$ mags to... scratched them up quite badly
-
never been back since this was a while ago, my cars passed 3 wofs since without 1 mention of the seat..
he hated me cause I actually called him on his BS, I had a quite decent argument on the phone 7 days into it when the axle broke
oh an ftr, the replaced clutch is great haha did a good job in the end but all the bs in between an like would you not test the car out before you handed it back to me? all this coulda been avoided with a few checks here an there
-
ok well my gearbox is almost totally stuffed now an I can't help but wonder WHY, when I got the car 2years ago it was mint, no crunching no popping outa gear an no grinding noises, 1 bad mechanic later an well its stuffed
1.5 years ago, I had my clutch replaced now where to start.....long story of fuk ups so read it if you want
it cost 1300$ for a 95sti exedy clutch (was told retails of 700$ for clutch)
ok well first of all, they reckoned 2days max for the job
after 2 days hi hows it going?
not to good we haven't finished the job yet blah blah
4days later, hows the clutch going?
We had some trouble with it, we got it all together finally an the box was jammed up an wouldn't budge at all O_O
next day, We took it to a gearbox specialist to find out what was wrong, apparently there was a ball bearing sensor on it an the ballbearing has fallen into the box an jammed in a cog, we had the box checked out its all good
7days later, hey hows the car going now?
we are almost done with it not just got to finish up come pick it up tonight
a few hours later, hey its garage here, we broke ya axel its gona cost 150$ to replace with genuine part.
OK WTF, lil bit annoyyed now mate rant rant, ok il pay the 150 (said he would wear cost but then said if he did that he didn't want to see me again an no warranty)
9days later, ok your cars all ready to go
drive it home , hey my cars not driving right, Its got a big boost leak an apon closer inspection I see you have taped the intercooler piping on with black electricle tape?
bring her back we will fix it sorry mate(hey these pipes get old an brittle its common BUT if you break it dont put it back on)
2days after shipping the part down, hey we sorted the leak out its all good to go
Sweet cheers man
1hour later, hey Im alil worried about this gearbox its making crunching an whines in first gear.ON CLOSER INSPECTION ITS GOT NO OIL ON THE GEARBOX DIP STICK
ok bring it back we sort it out
I gave you a 4L of oil for the job to use on my car as I paid for GOOD oil, why didn't you use it all?
OH I thought 2.5L was enough for most cars.....
AND FINISH
its 1year 4months later an what do you know, my box is popping gears whining in first an grinded changes as well as a rattle from the box itself
Ripped of or just BL with a box that was on its way out?
I swear when I got it it was mint but maybe it wasn't as good as I thought?
p.s also found out they broke my bov intake pipe an my black box bleeder intake pipe, all good we just put silicone on noone will know
sigh
ALSO
I went back to the same garage 3weeks later for a wof, he passed me all good, but said if I came back in 6months he would fail me on the ciggy burn on the drivers seat... When I asked why he said it was a new law an its for side impact situations the metal can go into your body ect ect... I offered to patch it an he said no the seat had to be completely replaced or reupholstered
-
Agreed about just replacing it with other parts aye.. .. if your spending the big $$ may as well go with a non crashed one.
If its been registered in NZ before I thought it could be revinned at any time?
im surprised the owner doesn't buy it back?!?!
-
if it was gona sell for less than 10 id buy it an just put in a lockup until I am older an can insure it haha but yea like others have said probably going to go for a fair bit more than 10...
im already looking for a impreza coupe to start out my project on but this would be a hell of alot better haha
I had a chassis straitened for less than 1000$ an that included panel work as well and I can say that it was probably 3-4times as bad as this car is.. so its definitely not something to be worried about, id be more concerned about the panel an strut , mags are pathetically expensive as well but you'd get by on something else while you saved to replace with genuine
I'm curious to how many genuine parts are actually available an where you would get them ?
-
has anyone checked this out?is there any chassis damage? an wanting to know weither the suspension is actually damaged also?
-
So the difference would be minimal at best really?
-
im tempted to remove interior sound deadning ect but dont know if it would be a waste of time
-
I got a gf8 wagon was wondering how they go as track cars?
-
anyone in chch can goto japrace spears (and safe R exhausts for any exhaust work-really good guy there highly recommended)
I did this mod recently an its made my cars NUTS like compared to what it was before hand it was just awesome to drive with the new pipe
unfortunately i've since done something to my waste gate an haven't had a chance to really test it out
guy at shop reckoned 20hp gains + which is probably around about right but its the way the car pulls that will surprise you
highly recommend this CHEAP mod to gain power but you will need to leave midpipe cat in for wof just so ya know, I didn't and it gave my car a crap farty sound which I got pinged for at wof, since then spent 150$ an got a resonator put in an a baffled tip-car is now barely noticeable when you drive past but still has performance equal to the catless setup
