  1. For starters they are fog lights and can only be legally used in the fog, they also have to be adjusted to a 3.5% down angle

driving lights have to be mounted within 50mm of the headlight centre line to be able to be used on the road UNLESS factory fitted

Those grills will limit the light output no matter what

I would look for a set of STi HID headlights and fit them to improve your lights

or fit a set or "rally" style driving lights but this means you will have GREAT lights on full but next to nothing on dip.

Here are the upgrades I have found to work with existing setups,

1/ Most modern cars have a plastic headlight so increasing the wattage does damage ( extra heat causes it to melt) so fit ULTRA or what have you same wattage bulbs will give you a whiter light but not a lot more ( i have done this with my hilux and have gained no LIGHT out put but have a Better light)

2/ rewire your existing headlights using larger wires and separate relays ( or you can buy setups that do this) This has been the greatest upgrade to my headlights on every vehicle i have owned ( going from a '56 morris, thru various subarus to my current 05 hilux)

3/fit after market driving lights for the extra long distance on the open highway but you can only fit one set without doing some tricky wiring as you are only aloud 4 headlights and 2 foglights at anyone time.

My landcruiser which has the best headlights you can get, I upgraded the wiring, fitted aftermarket 7" headlights (steel backed) so I could run 130/90 in them, then I fitted a set of spot lights and were running 130 bulbs in them and also a set of foglights running 130 bulbs in them, so awesome :)

Seller is denying all knowledge reckons he picked it up off a mate that owed him money etc blah. Moneys changed hands its a bit late for that. He had no idea and carjam report doesnt show such things which is f***in retarded. He wanted a project and knew better than I did and this is what hes ended up with... Only issue for cert is VF8 and exhaust change.

Makes no difference, the seller has still broken the law( purchased thing not up to what it was purchased to do)

get lawyer to write a letter using all the law words :) will scare the ****e out of him if nothing else

And if you get a cheap bluetooth dongle you can't do ****. It doesn't know how to talk to JDM stuff.

not exactly nothing really to do with the dongle or that it is JDM more to do with how obd2 compliant the vehicle is.

I have a "cheap" bluetooth adapter and it reads "true" obd2 stuff brilliantly, works so far on a 2012 merc sprinter 313,2008,2009,2012 toyota hiace,2014 toyota rav4 wont work on my 2005 hilux nor our 2003 landcruiser

  4. only thing I can add is that if you are buying it with another person MAKE SURE that the 2 off you are 100% committed to each other, I brought a house with my ex wife 10 years later we divorced what a crap of a time, had to sell house to pay her out, ( family trust brought it so I now rent the same house).

Mind you we paid $80k for the house, house was then destroyed in a house fire :(, new house that replaced it has a GV of $500K so sorta had a win ?
