Isn't 4WD made for that? (bad weather)
you aint 4WD youre AWD, and if you lock up the front under braking, on a wet corner, you end up like this...
and I've only got 1 wheel drive.
for those entered on track - please read.MANFEILD

Should we have received any info for the track yet? Entry forms or whatnot, or is that done on the day?
Generally it's done on the day.
So were meeting at tui HQ at 11:45
If anyone is organising a cruise to Tui, please allow enough time so you get there on time.
I'll be on 2 wheels so may or may not see you on the road. Fingers crossed for nice weather.
Gokarts is booked for 4pm.
Sunday at the track is a standard playday, so check their website for Ts and Cs and timings. You will need to fill out their standard entry and indemnity forms.

Tui HQ Numbers have been finalised, if theres anyone else who wants to come thats fine, however you will have to order off the main menu.
Spaces for the karting are still available, Good news, we have the numbers to make this happen, so pile on, we have around 18 spare slots.- 3

Another thing that popped into my mind this arvo was whether we need a fire extinguisher with approved mounting for the track day? Or are these kinda days deemed casual enough to not be required?
That's a question for playday... though the difference between having your own and waiting for theirs to arrive could cost you your car... they're cheap enough. And easy to install.

OK team, numbers are starting to fatten out a bit.
we are very close to hitting our threshold of "enough people to make the event happen"
If you are planning on coming, but havnt signed up for lunch and/or karting, i suggest now is the time to do it.
if you arent on the list, dont expect to just show up and have lunch, we need to know in advance, cut off is 7am 27th April. no exceptions.
Attendance list
any questions or dramas message me or post up here.- 1

Cost of the lunch ain't the issue so much as the logistics and 6 and a half hour drive
Are you a car enthusiast or not?
I'd love a 6 hour drive!!!

more than we have.
Is it really a "Mega" meet if theres less people there than any standard regional meet?
I mean, seriously... were putting on a free lunch at Tui for all subscribed members... and we have 6 actual members confirmed...

ok team, serious talk now.
we are almost exactly a month out now... and we simply dont have the numbers.
If you want to come but havnt committed... now is the time, or we run a real risk of cancelling. On 4/5/2018 at 9:19 AM, delta said:I will probably commit next week, trying to sort out what I need to buy for the track day first.
Is it all good if I come with a 100% cotton long sleeve T-shirt and jeans or do I really need some kind of racing overall?
Any tips as to where I can buy a helmet for cheap?
unless something has changed, standard 100% cotton overalls are fine. i have a few spare sets...

I probably won't qualify since I didn't become a proper member until recently, but it might be worthwhile to let people know what kind of roles you need filling, and what the requirements are for volunteering etc. For example, I work in Digital Development and Marketing. I run several web and software development teams, as well as a few digital marketing teams, and have an extensive background in web design and development (13+ years). Therefore, someone like me could be a good addition if one of the roles suit these skills.
Just a thought
Cool... you got the job.

There was a track day once at ruapuna where we had a tow car session. I remember putting a VX Landcruiser up against a 4wd courier.
Was a close race....
Not that we were racing of course.

Things are cracking on and this event is not far away, what we need is people who actually want to attend to sign up via the online store.
Numbers arent looking flash at this point and many many people have voiced an intrest...
c'mon people its our 21st birthday and the club has never put this much money into an events. its going to be awesome, but we need you to commit.- 2
