hey easiest way to find leak is to fill it up with water wait till it gets up to temp.

while looking under bonnet give it a few revs you should be able to see where its leaking.

are you sure its not the water pump seals?

im not sure why the car wont start. do you have fuel spark and air.

had the car been over heated. if so it might be seized. (i hope not)

mine split a radiator hose while my wife was driving so she kept driving????

    and it done a big end. :'( :'( :'(

    WOMEN! what can you do.

Well hopefully its not something serious!!!

So my sister bought my brother-in-laws 96 RS, mint car by the way.

She took it in to a sublab in town to get it serviced. A couple of weeks later she 3g's me and says the car wont start.

She pops the radiator cap and it looks rusted and empty, like there is no sign of any coolant in there.

So, is anyone able to do a flush of some kind to get rid of the rust and fill it up again with coolant please? or tell me what she needs to purchase and how to do it?

    ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Head into an auto store - get a radiator flush, follow the directions on the back of it ;)

otherwise if that is too hard, then buy the radiator flush and i'll have a look at it. What service did they do?

I can have a look at it at some stage if you really want..

No idea what service they did. But would appreciate you taking a look at it. Will PM you the details required.

    cheers

The strap of the car seat was fine but the clips on the straps that holds baby in had turned out and not in.

It took all but 15 seconds to flip them back the right way and i got pinged for it.

I think they were being A$%HOLES because it was a woman taking it for its warrant. DICKS!!!!

where did you take it for a wof?

if you say the vtnz its your own fault, they get paid to fail you not to be your friend.

whats wrong with ordinary garages that do wofs? they still check the same stuff, often have 35$ wof days and actually have a convo with you if they have the time,

Waitakere city council WOF station on moselle ave.

  6. My wife took our car in to get a warrant and i came home from work and she told me that we had failed our warrant. I then asked her what part of the car did we fail on, she showed me the failed warrant form, and i kid you not i was pissed off.

WE FAILED OUR WARRANT, BECAUSE MY SONS CAR SEAT STRAP!!!!

HOW THE FRICK DOES THAT HAPPEN?

Anyways, i came home early from work the next day and took the car in with the car seat in the boot. I approached one the testers there and asked him who had tested my car for a warrant. He took a look at the form and said that he would go and get him, just as he was about to go get him, he asked if he could look at what he had failed me on.

Long story short, he knew i was pissed and he covered up for his mate by saying that he was off work that day. I caused a fuss about it and they had to call the cops, which ended up being my mate from henderson police.

Frickin pricks at the testing station!!! Grrrrrr!!!!

  7. I have always enjoyed the sweet "rumbling" sound of the unique boxer engine.

So much so, that my first car was a 95 non turbo legacy TSR manual and traded it in for a BH e-tune tip tronic, i then convinced my sister to purchase it from me and bought my current ride a BE5 RSK manual sedan at 84,000k in 2007 and just yesterday i noticed that i had hit 97,000 k's hahahaha i also managed to get my sister to purchase my brother-in-law's 95 RS legacy and so i have turned my family into a real subaru orientated loving family.

  8. Well, i have booked myself into mag & tyre to see if they can some how remedy the situation.

But then i also have the fustration with my rear guards STILL slicing into my wheels. I just want to get it certified then go and get a warrant and am thinking i will fail, as the shavings of the guard on my tyres are visible.

  9. Well, i got them fitted and i would have to say that it is pretty stiff right now.

not sure what to make of it at the moment. My tires were getting sliced up by the guard from it being to low and asked the guy to raise it up. but dang! it is still stiff.

anyone recommend other places where i can get it adjusted?

Hmm, have seen this done before....

First of all, check to make sure the siren has been turned off (but I'm guessing not, unless you have played around with the siren key)...

Anyway, do this and you will get yr chirps back ;D:

    1) Disarm car and hop inside (ensure all doors are closed incl drivers)

    2) Turn ignition on but don't start the car

    3) Depending on what remote you have:

    * Torch Remote: Press LEFT button ONCE

    * Waterproof remote: Press BOOT RELEASE button ONCE

    4) You'll get a chirp! Turn the ignition off.

You should now have your disarming/arming chirps back again.

Let me know if this works for you.

Sure hopes this works, but will let you know.

    Thanks.
