yup easily modified so FAIL
same as a bolt in silencer can be called illegal beause it's easily removeable, i mentioned to my wof guy that i can remove most of my exhaust system with 2 bolts.... he just smiled and passed my wof!
i have just put a quick rack in my foz, yet to test it fully but it does reduce turns lock to lock, and makes steering more heavy (unless that was something else i've done at the same time)
only benifit is not having to change hand positions on the steering wheel AFAIK
yup need a company to register the vehicle, did this with an old station wagon of mine, had 5%'s in the back, had to remove rear seats as well when i did it (10 years ago)
asked a guy doing a wof on my work van about a similar thing, van has 5%'s with perferated signwriting over that and makes it almost completely blacked out, said it was all good on company vehicle, van doesn't have and can't have rear seats cause of shelves etc.
k-sport = crap according to my flatmate who has them in his v7 sti.
could always have a chat to leo at redline and get some bc's (not buddyclub) they seem pretty cheap and according to leo they are good ;D
like i said before, standard rear section + downpipe + no cat = max gain and no noise, hear turbo spool and wastegate a bit more (or maybe i imagined it) and you will gain a psi or two in boost spike but thats about it (i ran 11psi on dyno with and without standard exhaust)
no kw gain afaik, more acceleration and a cool boost spike with a downpipe
i did downpipe, then no cat, then rear muffler when i did my exhaust, with standard rear section had same power as brads foz with full 3" system
if you were in a car with no wof or reg the cop probably thinks you wouldn't have had the cash to buy his car anyway so were therefore asting his time.
just a theory
for some trackdays the extinguisher needs to be in a metal cradle fastened by at least 5mm gutter bolts as joker said earlier. ie as newsuba pic is and subieboys pic isn't
yeah mine is mounted on a bracket across the front passenger seat mounts, was made by a company in wellington (maclenons??? mc????? begins with m i'm sure ???)
the "step" on a forester chassis is different to wrx so physically won't fit. I tried when i put the alloy lower arms on, foz bushes would fit a foz but not vice versa.
ah well that aint gonna happen, wrx rear bushes don't fit the forester chassis, and i remember some semi-trustworthy person telling me forester rear bushes are similar to an antilift kit when put on a wrx???
yup tranny spacers will also be coming out on this mission, will look at the rear once i can put the front of the car back on the ground.
