  1. Hi Guys ~ Im halfway thru wiring up my new tow bar wiring kit and have had no trouble doing left and right indicators, earth, etc.....but have one wire left to connect and one last question:

I went to hook into the brake lights & found there are three possible wires to connect to, here is a photo: 115658789_full.jpg

The wires are coloured from left to right: solid black, white with black stripe and solid red. The black wire seems to terminate on the side of the unit, whereas the other two fit thru the bottom.

Which one do I connect to?

car is 1996 JDM wrx sedan

    Cheers!

  3. Heres some photos I took while in America a few weeks back.

Its just a few of the sights you see on the freeways mixed with a few car crimes & a few American classics I stumbled upon (oh, and a few pics of fun times at a gun range in Las Vegas). Typically there were lots of riced Civics, Camrys & Escalades on 22” rims etc etc that were to quick to photo but you get the jist.

Thought some of you may appreciate some of these:

  4. Hi guys,

After driving my WRX home tonight, I noticed a drip & sizzling sound.

I've checked under the car & there are no puddles, so I'm guessing the leak is small at this stage & is dropping onto the exhaust & burning off.

I've checked the wiper fluid reservoir & no leaks there. Checked the radiator level & it does seem lower, when I lifted the lid I heard a few drips.

My question is, is there anything else it could be besides a head-gasket? I'm guessing head-gasket, as cooling pipes don't really sit above the exhaust to drip down on.

Roughly how much would a head gasket replacement be?

as long as your certain its not connected to anything then remove at will, but would recommend you remove 1 wire at a time then check everything still works before removing another, unless certain its got no other connections.

sounds like the best plan, cheers!

option 2, tidy it up... small cable ties and black tape = win

mate, there is at least a metre or two of wiring there - I'd rather loose it completely than have to hide it under the carpets.

If you're in Auckland, bring it to me. I'll rip it all out for you.

thanks for the offer - but Im in taupo

  6. cheers guys for your comments.

all the excess wiring is just sitting there & is only connected to the original wiring loom at the ECU by that one lime green wire & red junction box.

I guess I'll label which wires I cut & hope if sh!t happens I can simply re-connect what I cut.
