  1. Nope, nothing would have been open which sold orange bulbs (unless they sell them at gas stations) I'm just gonna buy some tomorrow before work.

But yeah, cheap fix if this is the sorta look your wanting to go for. You might be able to do it for the wagon versions aswell, unsure though, but it would make sense that subaru would use the same orange plastic thing in the tail light of the wagon model.

  2. I've had a few turbo legacys and only 1 manual one

In my RS it would show vacuum on idle and when not boosting, and boost when boosing.

I'm my auto legacy gt (my current car)

It wont show vacuum on my boost guage (its a vacuum+boost gauge)

It's not new to me that this has happened, I've just always wondered why autos dont show vacuum?

I Galant VR-4 (legnum shape) came into work the other day and it had a vac/boost gauge that showed vacuum, and it was auto...

    ...soo errr... wtf?

    Any info would be great

    cheers

  3. Don't know if anyone has realised this but I did this today, looks way better IMO.

Step 1: Open Boot, and make some room around where you can access the tailight bulbs

    img15101.jpg

Step2: Remove plastic bulb holder, to expose the taillight inner

    img15301.jpg

Step3: Using some plyers (normal or needle nose) grab the orange piece of plastic which sits in the indicator area of the tail light, dont forget to remove the philips screwwhich is in the same place (you'll see it, theres only 1)

Get a good grip on the piece of plastic and give it a yank, be careful not to go too hardout as you may crack your tail light, it's a bit of a bitch to get out but it will budge after a little wiggle

Step4: Put plastic bulb holder cover back, and inner tail light cover

    After:

It took less time to do it than it did to upload all these photos (fkn 56k)

Hope this is of some use to someone ;D

  4. get new coil packs,

if your spark plug aint sparking with new spark then its probably your coil packs,

btw not much point earthing a spark plug when your testing to see it fire

the trick is to leave a gap between a good earth and the spark plug (about 1cm) a spark should jump from the plug to the earth, if it doesn't then there is no spark, and if they are good spark plugs then its probably your coil packs.

a set of 2nd hand coil packs should be fine, subarus arn't prone to frying coil packs as they are in a semi-well ventilated area.

unlike skylines which cook coil packs as often as they stolen, been part of a high speed chase, ditched, and then a cop on the scene shoots a random courier driver

  5. mine i.c.v was fucked when I bought the car, it wouldn't idle properly, and sometimes not at all. but car would drive fine in drive. the dude thought the cars engine was fucking out lol, but I knew what it was, took it home, went to pick-a-part, i.v.c was $16, cleaned it up with carb cleaner, chucked it on, BANG engine ran sweet

dont think it is man, my wagon is 93' gen1 facelift,

Ohhh yup, I just got facelift and non facelift mixed up

it's weird you'd think my shape was facelift as the front lights look angry (the lights look grimous)

where as the front of your car (if it had its bumper on) looks plain like the picture above

  7. Haha! Go the Legacys! (ol' school rules btw)

    I've owned 4 legacys now

My first was a 89 or 91 STI Turbo Version Sedan, although everyone on rexnet said there was no such thing

(had sti decals up the doors which definately wern't aftermarket and came with different wheels that were lightweight alloy, td04 turbo and some other things like slightly lower and harder springs etc)

Then a Turbo Wagon which probably got the biggest thrashing out of all the cars i've owned (other than my s13 LOL) (hey I was young)

    Then 91 RS Non facelift

    Now a 89 GT Facelift :P

I love the subi powah :-*
