Its 3M RANGE carbon fibre vinyl... (im a signwriter by trade) -unsure how long it will last on the visors but seems to be stuck pretty well 4 now :-)

Yes have done codes, was coding idol control - so we replaced that and re-set... After having them checked again yesterday its now coding knock sensor :-s ...will get that sorted and let u guys know what happens :-)

Have tried a total of 3 afms on the car... all work on wagon - still wont idol on sedan. Have tried fiddling with idol - it still stalls. -Havnt tried o2 sensor i dont think - will get him 2 try it.

yes, done - even put the BOV off the wagon (which runs perfect) on the sedan to try that...

Hi guys, my flatmates have just purchased 2 v2 wrx's - a wagon and a sedan... the sedan had engine issues when we collected it, was blowing large amounts of thick black smoke, and when you revv'd it - white smoke. (we swapped subbie + $2k cash our way for a leaky nissan navara), the guy had the engine pulled out and rebuilt, by what has to be one of the dodgyest mechanics in west auckland!!) - it has a frontmount setup, bov, pod filter and external wastegate thats not currently connected. We have since fixed the following: airlock in cooling system, tightened silicone on FMIC, replaced perished vacume lines, sparkplugs not in correctly, coil packs not bolted on, new pod filter (old one was rusted and dirty as hell), new (2nd hand from strongs) afm, and icv... main issue still is the car WONT idol when its cold (idols for approx 10sec before stalling) - it will stay running if you sit there with your foot on the accelerator? my flatmate is a mechanic and hes even run out of ideas? -does anyone else have any ideas on what else we could look at? or could the 2nd hand icv be buggered? thanks everyone
