Thats what i thought but why would it hold boost in 3rd,4th & 5th? ill have a good look over it at work or on the weekend & c how it goes. Thanks

Its more than likly not holding boost in high gears, just the turbo is working hard enuf to make it boost cut,,realy not good for your turbo making it work like this

    You sure ???

Cause i put a 2002 rev d legacy motor into a 1998 b4 and it wouldnt start cause the cam and crank had differnt number of teeth, causing it to not start.

But in saying that changed them both at the same time so possibly would start only with crank..

Nah both were different toothed but if had 1 would of run lol

What sort of rpm are you towing this engine at trying to get vacuum?

Have you changed the top right cam sprockets or the crank gear??

Cause they have X amount of teeth on the back to trigger the cam and crank sensor. If you have a newer or older pulley on chances are tehy will have different teeth adn the ecu wont know whats going on.

Shouldnt be this if its getting spark and fuel thow brad

  5. Hey guys

My car has started to have an engine wine, ive got a few idea of what it mite be but thort someone may have had it before,, its a V5 sti, if i give it a bit of stick and at full boost and high rpm ie 5000+ then butten off the engine has a loud wine to it, is engine not drivetrain, is directly related to engine rpm as in wine pitch changes with revs, i thort it may have been my turbo on the way out but seems too change with revs too much for that,, was woundering if it could be a cambelt idler or something, does cambelt come under more load with high boost as valve are harder to open? its not a knocking noise so dont realy think its a crank bearing unless someone has heard of one wining before,

The wine goes away again after abot 5mins of normal driving

If anyone has anyideas it would be a big help

    Thanks
