  1. I did get that email Dave sorry. Probably go with the ebay side...looks abit cheaper!? Wonder how long shipping takes? Yeah for sure. Double shipping getting to me then to you!
  2. Do you guys get Maxxis tyres over in NZ? I have a set on the XR8, they were 245 x 35 x 19 and have been surprisingly good. Decent tread, and are wearing well. And thats with 5.4L of V8 power going thru the rears! They hang on nicely in the corners too. And some of you know how I like to drive..... They were the MA-Z1's I think. Directional. They were around $235 AUS$ a tyre, but were significantly cheaper than the main brands, Bridgestone, Toyo etc. Just a thought if they have them there.
  3. I emailed you, but looks like you might be sorted.... Cheers!
  4. Oh nice. Can get from eBay in Aussie for AU$30 delivered! Or $38 express postage. And its the proper Exogear one! YAY! Just a thought, if a few people want these and it's cheaper to buy here I could order 10 or something then send them over to NZ, Paul maybe and he can distribute? Just a thought.
  5. God thats cheap! You pay 24k AUS$ for a Version 8 STI over here in Aussie! OMG! ITS $19235 AUS$ I WANT!
  6. Well I would have thought they would have found some more exciting cars to drive around the Monaco F1GP track! I was a bit gutted with those POS shoes..... But its been a good start so far! Bring on next week! ;D ;D ;D
  7. I painted my water pump body, now just need gaskets and bolts to attach it to the block! )
  8. That they must..... The coon is good, such an amazing feeling to have TORQUE! Now thats a proper V8 haha. Got a Series 6 RX7 race car project on the go as well... Good luck in finding a replacement. The Ver 8 will handle a bit better when set up well, and you need to go STI. Happy hunting!
  9. Just be thankful you are spoiled for choice and price. Over here in Aussie a non-STI V8 2003 WRX will cost you between $13k and $23k, AUS$ and the STI's start from about $25k up to about $28k ITS MADNESS!
  10. A Gallah flew thru the front grille of mine.....
  11. Ah gold.... And the comments are funny. Still, stupid place to put a hay bale! But needed if there are bikes running I guess.
  12. I got a 6 speed clutch/flywheel into a 5 speed box when I had the GC8 race car.... Had to grind away the bellhousing a bit to make it work, as the 6 speed one is bigger. But it worked! )
  13. All about budget mate. On my old RS race car it just had the standard 2 pot's with 275mm front rotors, and I never used to get brake fade because I had good pads and fluid. If it were me, I'd just wait until I could afford something bigger, like the STI Brembo's or something. Bigger pads and rotors. And SOOOOOOOOO much more sexy........ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  14. On the road probably not. Braking is more about the pads and fluid IMO, and 2 pot brakes on a road car can perform the same as a 4 pot system. You only have to speak to Race Brakes in Auckland for them to tell you this. Your often not braking hard to the limit of the brakes continually on the road, so apart from looks, there really is no point. The difference when it comes to the track. The bigger rotors and pads will dissipate the heat better, and when coupled with good high-temp fluid and pads will not fade like conventional road brakes. Hence why you see massive rotors and calipers on race cars, and lots of ducting to get the air flow for cooling.
  15. Or just do as I did and buy a rotary.... I'm hoping for 320+KW ATW and there are no rods to come out like in the old RS! Bwahahahhahahaa..... But I agree. 2L over 2.5 anyday... So much more R & D than the 2.5.
  16. Its all starting! Should be starting to work on it tonight. Engine is getting built by Rick Shaw in Sydney, so that should be down here in a few weeks. Looking for around 300KW at the wheels. So should be reliable, and still have good power. Just running on 98 pump gas to start with, as E85 is an extra cost, and from what I've found out not much more power. Mainly runs cooler from what I believe. Going to be fun switching to a RWD car with no ABS or power steering! FUN! Now the mission to strip the weight out of it, and try and fit myself in! I bought a new 4009W Racetech seat when I was back in Welly last Dec. And a removable steering wheel boss kit... So should make life easier. I'll post up some photos soon. Dave.
  17. Yes well we won't talk about that...... And you wont be dual driving this one, and it cost a shit load more than the RS.... So I'll be trying to keep it off the tyres! But I'm still going to beat you, well, providing I have an engine!
  18. Im sorry dude, but you HAVE to something about that HIDEOUS engine bay colour! Looks like a heard of rampant newborns took a stream of runny shit's in there! I mean honestly...... I'll make sure to kick your ass at superlap just because of that!
  19. Been to a few race days, and a few practice days. There are some nice cars! I've been to the odd one in Sydney as well. You get the average ones like in NZ, but I've seen some awesome R35 GTR's and some amazing RX7's. Lots of Silvia drift/track cars. You see a few Subaru's, but they are quite expensive here. The other side is to cert a car here for mods on the road is HELL expensive, so generally people don't do it, or try and hide it the best they can. So this cuts down the daily driver's track car too.
  20. Yeah it is. There is a workshop here locally, REVS that build rotary engines. I;ll go check them out, see what a BP 13B will set me back. I've got a GT 35/40 turbo for it as well. Its a nice looking car! I cant wait to get it done and out on the track!
  21. Well, I don't think any rotors are bulletproof.... But you can get them pretty reliable with mild mods... I wont be doing much with it till Jan, but I'll keep updating!
  22. Probably just get a stock 13B to start with, maybe a bridge port later on. The turbo setup I've got will be good for decent HP. I just want to get it going first! A 20B would be fun tho..... Yeah Trev, life is far better over here!
  23. Well yes, but I need the TAXI for the tow car!
  24. Yup. Got me a new project. Series 6 RX7, minus engine, box, ecu. Comes with NEW (rebuilt) GT35/40 turbo, intake manifold, external wastegate and manifold, and few other bits. all freshly re-wired, new paint. Need wider seat tho... And will need a removable boss kit for steering wheel lol. I got in it, but only just! Seat can go back about 2-3 inches. And the XR8 just for good measure....
