    factory legacy grille

There's a blue BE5 in the car park I use with a grey painted grille. It looks awful. If it was black it would probably look OK. I painted my old BG5 the same silver as the car and that didn't work either, but again black looked OK. Worth a go?
  2. Watch a TV programme like Motorway Patrol and see how cops (in Auckland anyway) handle drivers when they ticket them. The discussion is always about the amount of the fine, NOT trying to deter them from doing it in the first place. Once upon a time, Police used to issue warnings and lecture you on the error of your ways, today 99% of stops end in the issue of a fixed penalty fine. Revenue gathering or driver education/correction? You decide. : I know which I think works best. And I'm old enough to remember when police rode bicycles and Panda cars were a novelty. (you need to come form the UK to get that one)
  3. Talking to a Shell Techo in Oz the other day, they let slip that the fuel was actually denser than other brands. In other words you do get more bang for your buck! That's why it gives better mpg under normal driving.
  4. Yes I noticed no warning to the vans lately. Must remember to activate k band again and get really p*ssed off bay all the K band beeps. Damn!
  5. Followed one for a few seconds on the Rimutaka Hill on the way home tonight. Man it wallowed.... Not a good look, I felt sea sick! So I passed it at warp speaed ;D
  6. My B4 has the same. I leave it on Power. It uses more of the rev range before changing. The Hold is for snow and ice. It also stops the car rolling back on hill starts without touching the brakes

    rsk ?

keep a close eye on the rear diff...... I need a new one. where do you park at night????
  8. I gave myself a second opinion. I drained the oil from the diff. Less than 3 months old and the first half that came out was silver, the second half black. Not the nice gold colour that went in. I think that means I have metal soup where the diff should be. Amazingly apart from the loss of drive, there was no noise from the diff at all to indicate imminent catastrophe. :'(
  9. Me again, had the B4 up on a hoist today and the mechanic reckons the rear diff and CV's are sh*gg*d. You can move the inner green CV's outwrds quite easily until they can be moved up and down....doesn't seem right to me Anyway on the brightside, a diff is cheaper and a lot lighter than a gearbox to replace. To help me find a replacement quick, does anyone have one with inner CV's that will fit a B4? It's a 4.44 LSD. Also to help me search the breakers, can anyone tell me if earler TT RS autos, GT sedans and GT wagons (not GTB) have LSD and are 4.44 because I know where I can get hold of those to pull the diff out. Thanks Fujisan Fujisan
  10. It's OK. Latest news is its actually the rear diff. See new post But thanks anyway Lance
  11. My trans has crapped out. Anyone got an auto box suitable for a 99 B4? I have located a possible box on TradeMe. Anyone know anyone trading as CarsonRacing16? Thanks Fujisan
