  1. Hi there

I was under the impression it was not possible to import most jap cars these days, I have found this

    http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/frontal-impact-compliance/docs/frontal-impact-compliance-subaru-20021223.pdf

...which says that some gc8 models can be imported? wtf. is this just old document or can we still import some for road use? it seems that according to the same document you can import mitsi evos from late 90s and 2000's.

    Please help

    Cheers

  2. Hi guys

Over the weekend some animal broke into my v2 and attempted to hot wire my car, they have smashed up the ignition barrel and pulled a few wires. Where would the best place to get this replaced and fixed on a budget haha. bloody bastards.

    Cheers

  3. I was under the Impression v2 sti was open and only the v2 ra sti block was closed. maybe I am wrong. He also said that I had hydrolic lifters but unsure of that. He hasn\'t actually looked at engine.

Either way I am moving towards just getting a standard rebuild keeping orgial pistons and pushing boost up putting in bigger injectors and fel pump using either possm link or ebc and safc Orr similar

    Cheers

  4. Hi

I was down at innotech Subaru getting some ideas around my rebuild, the fulla was fairly flaming about using my v2 sti block, he said that it would drop gaskets all the time with increased power due to it not being closed. surely its not that weak is it? he is pushing me towards the idea of a v7 block but it would be so much cheaper to keep my own block.

    Cheers

Will the v6 injectors fit in v2 rails? If not what\'s the solution?

    /quote]

You swap the V5/6 rails and injectors straight over onto a V1/2 mani and get your car tuned to suit.

You can decap later then for moar powar.

    Sweet as that\'s the go.

Worth having them flow tested and getting new o rings?

Most definitely. Tony @ d-tech is the man to see pm him on here. Bloody cheap and professional.

    cheers

    whats his username?

Power FC has D-jetro and L-jetro models for AFM or MAP

I forget which is which but google will tell you which does what

The AFM one will still be fine, just use the built-in option for upgrade to 300ZX AFM and it no longer is a power bottleneck anyway

People get pretty hung up on ECU choice, the PFC is pretty dated but they\'re also idiot proof and being a direct plugin has benefits come resale time too. Don\'t need to be

running the latest motec supercar spec ECU when it\'s not being asked to provide 8 channels worth of aux outputs and stuff - got to toss up if $3k worth of ECU and tune is worth the trouble on a $6k street car I spose

Boons comment has a lot of merit too - look at thorpys coupe (215kW with top mount interheater and stock ECU) for an example, stock ECU seems to cope well with being pushed a bit

At wat point does the v2 afm run it\'s course?

  8. Okay okay my budget can not include a g4 so I\'m thinking of using possum link or apexi fc. Car will be rebuilt, injectors (yellow tip is planned but could go biggerYeah come watch boxing tonight with the boys at mine), walbra fuel pump, front mount, vf22 or rebuilt larger core. I have been learning about limitations of possum link. How about power fc?
