  1. i went from jamex to dobi and the dobis are alot stiffer at the same ride height **** cobra are also red
  2. ok so yesterday it was whining in 1st gear from about 4000rpm upwards... just went for a drive in it today and no more whining noise in 1st?? how can it disappear and reappear when it likes to?? any ideas? maybe its not my gearbox?
  3. hey man if gc8 springs fit into ur shocks i have 2x front springs which are jamex lowering springs..would sell u them for 50 bux if u want them im in auckland too
  4. only a theory but if the temp sensor was dangling down near the head / exhaust temperature area then itd go high and maybe its a safety that it does turn off when intake temp is super high??? we needa know if it has a temp sensor or not lol my mate had a v4 i think it was and it did have a air temp sensor which was in the air box standard...someone did the mean "churr bro" pod install and left it dangling in the engine bay... i drilled a hole in the kneck of the pod filter and put the temp sensor in there and it ran alot better and alot better fuel economy just a idea anyway
  5. they may do...not sure...but if it has one and its just dangling in the engine bay from a "churr bro" pod filter install then that could be causing problems
  6. u might wana fix the knock sensor fault or ull be buying a new engine or a rebuild very important sensor
  7. loose batery terminal? dodgy conection somewhere? it run sweet as after the 2 mins? have u checked fault codes
  8. it wont stop.... but high intake air temperature causes detonation
  9. well y didnt the people at VTNZ say u need a cert for compressed springs? [quote name='johnny5 said: grab a blow torch heat a coil watch it compress old school low riders method works but hard to get it right all the way around that defonatly is 100x dodgier than cutting a coil off
  10. LOL pods are noisy...cool if u like the spool sound... BUT make sure u dont leave ur AFM wobbling around...will defonatly shorten the AFMs life
  11. well it does seem to be getting installed on a standard RS ?? or is it modified to an extent?
  12. I CAN read sarcasim..hence y i said LOL and on another line i was replying to it doesnt NEED to be near the turbo.. but is best to be mounted where it picks up off all 4 cylinders...so if its down the bottom then u dont need a "screamer pipe" as such
  13. Cheers man awesome so is urs the same.....??? if someone could show the pic of where and what the spring looks like thatd be awesome
  14. Howsit guys.. i have a 97 WRX and the gearbox code on my car doesnt match the number on the plate... so i looked it up online and to my suprise the number matched to a STI gearbox (my cars just a WRX)... so that had me quite happy for once... BUT... it seems to have a whine in 1st gear only... and it only whines over 4000rpm?? my first question is whats causing this?? also is this super bad? is my gearbox gona shit itself any day soon? its just like a high pitch whine not a grinding noise or anything...sounds sort of like a massive turbo lol but its defonatly coming from the gearbox and only in 1st gear... is this from someone launching it? is it fixable or is it needing a rebuild to fix it?? just wondering what ur guys thoughts are on it... one other thing is that the gearstick isnt quite right...LOL dat sounds quite bad doesnt it but what i mean is u know wen u have stick in neutral...and u push it across to in between 5th and reverse if u let it go it springs back into the middle... and when u push the stick towards 1st and 2nd it does the same and springs back into the middle (all cars do it)...hopefully u get what i mean anyway... well mine does this on the 5th and reverse side...but it does NOT on the 1st and 2nd side... is this something to do with the linkages?? surely it is?? can some people who are wizzes with subaru gearboxs help me out please thanks in advance
  15. LOL see i told u that u are a legend liquid ice :)
  16. LOL well dont spray it on ur exhaust aye!!!
  17. a good tip is if u can have the engine running and have a can of brakecleen on u to spray that were u think it is leaking ie joiners etc...when u hit the sweet spot (the leak) the engine will splutter / missfire
  18. could be intake... the reason its not running good on throttle and idle is cos the MAF is sensing how much air is going past it and some / alot in ur case is leaking out
  19. LOL.. it doesnt need to be near the turbo..u can mount down bottom...best to pick up off all 4 cylinders tho rather than just 2
