  1. I don\'t know why people go for a walbro as a lift pump tho ? Because its doing such low fuel pressure u don\'t need that bigger of a pump- I took my intank walbro out in favour of using the stock pump for that reason and also walbro pumps tend to not last very long picking up air
  2. All this talk of the lift pump being able to keep up etc - on wot u see 60 psi fuel pressure of your running 1 bar and stock fuel pressure - lift pumps only doing 1-10 psi max - the flow is alot more at 1-10 than it is at 60 psi - I run a stock sr20det lift pump in the tank and a external walbro pump off the surge tank - and I\'ve never had issues and the car lives on wot on te track The stock pumps rated at like 180 or so lph at 3 bar so it would be over 255 at <1 bar - and the external wouldn\'t be flowing anywhere near 255 at full fuel pressure (can\'t see the graph ATM but it would be alot lower) - would be pretty dam hard to not supply enough flow at such a low pressure
  3. Lolol u get what I mean tho don\'t u On wot I highly doubt there\'s any chance that fuel could sit in the fuel rail On idle / cruise I\'m thinking yea maybe because the injectors aren\'t taking much at all- but the amount of fuel coming into the rail and the fact it has a return line - I don\'t see of understand how some fuel can sit in the fuel rail and some fresh (colder fuel) can go around the hotter fuel and go back to tank ? Lol Wouldn\'t it just be constantly flowing and constantly having fresh fuel in the rail Now if we talk about a ls1 or similar which has no fuel return what so ever - than fuck yea fuel would just sit in rail
  4. Aww yea sweet I have a spare port for dual pumps ill just chuck a gauge on there I\'m a little confused about this whole fuel hanging around etc - Saying that fuel will linger in the fuel rail ? I don\'t understand how fuel can sit there when the injectors are taking heaps of gas and anything else is forced out the return cos it\'s all flowing - I\'ve never seen water in the middle of a flowing river just sit still and the rest flowing past it
  5. Super interested topic !! How are u guys checking pressure in surge tank? Curious as to check mine now I run my surge tank with the regulator return feeding into sure than surge into fuel tank return for the same reason that I want to make sure surge tank is constantly full
  6. The rumble is the best part ! Actually daily drive a Nissan stagea - good tow wagon !! My drift car is my silvia - caged and tube framed and now gt3076r equipped Would love a wrx wagon to tow with tho
  7. Haha good bro ! Mad u went back to a older Subaru ! I still miss my suby and its rumble
  8. Ditch the little toy turbo and put a big twisted guy on before u tune the link
  9. have been around for yonks have really been looking into one of these for me race car - anyone know anything about the auto tune feature and how it would even work? do they come with a base tune?
  10. Just realised how off topic u have pushed this thread - it\'s about engine bays and that\'s all - so I ain\'t gonna post anything here now funky: noted but trimmed to try and stop the trolling back. Also a very purposeful engine bay dude, some fine craftsmanship in that to be sure.
  11. Lol yea well other people have alot more than one - But yea I\'m probably out of place - not trying to make it about me at all - just seeing what people think of my bay just like everyone else does on this thread
  12. Well he\'s the only one trolling - The space frame is still technically the engine bay Go on sooper man - give me some real criticism not just lame shit - ill take any real criticism on board - but trolling just means u jelly - jelly is ugly Where\'s your custom work to show us ?
  13. Pretty sure you are the same guy - specially when u read the thread in ya sig !! And your the only one who said I\'m not welcome here - no one else - and I\'ve been err alot longer than you anyhow - For my lulz and to piss you off ill just throw up another pic lolol
  14. The spring will allways find the equilibrium point where pressure over comes the spring rate Meaning it will allways boost what the spring is - mounting it in different spots won\'t change the boost pressure - it can have effects such as boost spike and boost creep however if flow isn\'t enough Hey vadster - somewhere I have a spring that does 0.7 on its own and one that does 0.5 on its own - u can have em of u want
  15. Uhh nope - a spring is a spring - ask anyone who\'s used one of these gates - they allways boost 0.2-0.3 more than they are rated too Only on the vee band gates this is - the 2 bolt gates actually boost what they\'re rated too but springs are different dimensions
  16. It did cross my mind when I was buying my new cooler - then I stopped smoking the crack I found under the couch
  17. It\'s DIY but I do run a business on The side specialising in this field - as well as being a qualified welder / engineer by day And nah your wrong about it being a waste of money - if you enjoy what your spending money on - if you enjoy what the money is going into - if you enjoy getting whatever it is out of your car - then it\'s no way a waste of money Maybe if u hate your car - and hate what it does - then yea it will be a waste of money
  18. care to explain why? Is it able to be used on the road? or the track? or is it just for you to sit in for 400 metres? IN MY OPINION: Drag cars are a WOFT.(only for the narsosistic) And as has been pointed out.....its not even a subaru. Despite your comment about this thread being about engine bays only................I believe the intention would be to have subaru engine bays...................Not ugly skyline stuff! Tarmac is for pussies anyways.........Gravel is where you learn to drive! Silvia stuff mate - the thing that gives that away is the struts - and the fact it\'s a 4 banger not a 6 ?? Doesn\'t really matter it\'s not a suby - I\'ve been on here for aaaaages and thought I would share my bay - since the title states that !!! Tarmacs for pussys ? What a joke mate - would love to see u on a track ripping the handbrake into a corner !! It\'s def not for pussys
  19. It\'s a drift car and my god does it do its purpose well I didn\'t want to go vee mount - it\'s alot of fucking around for something that doesn\'t work very effective - mainly the radiator - not enough flow overheats easily - done a bit of r&d and nah not worth it Push fans are very effective - have tried all sorts of fan setups - and this setup is by far the best - and yes it\'s basically only used between 5000-7000 rpm so it does get a beating The whole front end is custom made - u can\'t see much of the Tube frame in that pic - but I could have mounted anything where I wanted it - all I ever had trouble with was the front mount being too low - hitting trailers / ripple strips etc -where it is now is perfect - and didn\'t want to move radiator back because where it is makes it super easy to work on the engine - lots and lots and lots of room End of the day it\'s built to drift - nothing else - function was allways thought of over form - hell only cleaned it up real pretty to show off at the Nats
  20. Your more than entitled to your own opinion - but it\'s def not a piece of crap - more like a piece of engineering art work - the front end and chassis rigidity took me 100 hours in just 2 short weeks
  21. thanks - the whole front end is seam welded - no seam not welded - makes a huge difference along with all the other chassis mods i have done
  22. Very tidy mate. All the more impressive as its your own work (Your bay I assume?) yea mate 100% all my own work - no body or any other company has ever laid hands on this car haha very proud i am haha
  23. uhmmm it doesnt say post a subaru engine bay ?? it says post YOUR engine bay - this is mine and mate my car would never ever see gravel - it wouldnt know what it is - let alone drive accross it - it would belly up anyway
  24. not a subaru engine bay - but can u honestly complain ?
