  1. also qwuick question is it ok to have it running before i take it for a drive because i need to bleed the brakes? and its so much easier to do it with the vacumm asisst also i was thinking about would it be allright to run the engine hard up to the vod/switch over point? using the method for running in mentioned above to seal the rings so would be 60-90% throttle up to about 4-4500 rpm
  2. ok can somebody else read that link above and tell me how this relates to a turbo car and how you would run it in to get the same results
  3. ok yea i see but i was reading that other write up mentioned above and it seems to be working really well i was just wondering how you run it hard but dont boost it to much or rev it out? does it mean WOT instead of hitting the upper standard boost and the redline
  4. sweet how did that go for you? and how does it relate to turbo cars? do i still just factory boost in my rsb during run in?
  5. Heya, just getting my engine (EJ20R TT) back from a freshen up as a general rule how many km is a run in period? and what oil shuld be used?? I got told just to use a good quality oil Cheers also whats the good oil for gearbox and rear diff 5 speed manual?
  6. ok well i guess i will have to just test fit if the seller allows me to
  7. hmmm is there a specific offset i need to clear the callipers ? or is it just the fact that some factory wheel were not made to fit larger brakes?
  8. hey um when they say offset? +38 +48 etc etc what does that actually mean and how is that measured? from that you cant tell if it will clear the brakes can you?
  9. im not sure i think they are 48 but i also think its the shape of wheel where the calliper clearance is and they came on cars with big 2 pots not 4 pots so im guessing they wont fit as the 16" of them didnt fit and werent even close but my 17" from v7 sti clears with plenty of room hmmm what are people opinions on anz rims? or looking at getting one of the two in 17 x7 but want it to poke out a little but not gaurd rub whats a good offset to ask for? will these wheels have a calliper clearance for 4 pots?
  10. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=234905433 cheers also if anyone has any the same as these 17 x 7 ? i would be keen to swap plus cash extra for me a set of v7-v8 sti alloy rims in mint condition 17x 7.5"
  11. there is a write up on the perrin website about there sti with h6 turbo engine (graphs were above) and videos on youtube comes on boost fast as also a lot of info floating around here aus and in us google search comes up with alot of it and yes costs a lot more money to have a bullet proof engine and the ecu to control it
  12. yea i think its been converted as they put the 4.444 front diff so they would of done that 2 if they knew what they weere doing btw its for sale if ne1 interested
  13. oh crap lol what can i do to fix that? its electric btw
  14. http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/tyres.html just did a quick calculation with gbox have now ty752vbAAA with 4.444 front diff instead of 4.111 i get with the rpm value at 7500 and 0.7 on rev(just how it was when i went into it) i get 35mph 59mph 85mph 113mph 149mph but with sti rsb or gtb box and all the same apart from the ratios on the gears i got 39mph 65mph 95mph 127mph 167mph what does that actually mean? that my gears are shorter from the 4.444 instead of 4.111 is this a good thing or a bad thing
  15. no i pulled it out to clean it anyway opened bung hole marked with twink on a tooth and turned the input shaft around to turn the crown wheel to count them isnt it a bit weird to change a front diff in a different gbox though? is it worth keeping that one of get a gtb rsb sti v3-4 box? mase the ratios on the gears are different? TY752VBCAA 3.166 1.882 1.296 0.972 0.738 4.444 TY752VBAAA 3.454 2.062 1.448 1.088 0.825 4.111 mine is 4.444 front diff in this box
  16. ok thank you i just worked out how to do it anyways seeing no1 replyed in time i have a 40 tooth crown wheel so i need a whole number to be right so 40 divided by 4.111 = not whole number not that 1 40 divided by 4.444 = 9 winner hmm seems a bit wierd that they would go to such a big length to change the ratio in a ty752vbAAA gearbox when they could of just got a gtb for not much more is realy the same or is marking and turning diff 4.444 whole time and axles should go around 1 time right?
  17. hmm okay then ... im going to pull the gearbox tomorrow to see what the real ratio is on the box (through the oil drain hole with a white pen) for 4.111 and 4.444 how many teeth should i see ? same with the back ? just wondering how to actually see the teeth without pulling everything out completely please can anyone get back to me by tomorrow CHeers
  18. anyone with an manual rsb please can you help i need the number off the rear diff to identify mine also if its possible can you roughly measure the front and rear axles whats the easiest way to find out the front and rear diff ratios ? as i dont trust that what i have is right Cheers
  19. i might just keep my stockers seems like to much trouble when there really isnt that much difference i guess i could allways get them modded later on

  21. what do people think of vf32 and 33 seem to be be alot bigger in the exhaust housing ? compared to vf 26-27 from what i have read
  22. im sorry but thats not how i read it and also i pulled them off the engine myself for the rebuild and read the ihi turbo info page my97 has vf20 engine is ej20R manual 1997 rsb
  23. ok so got my email reply from cosworth and found out the mains wont fit becuase of centre thrust vs rear and they werent sure of the bigends on the older style engine but i found that newer is 48mm and older is 52mm journal ? is that right? ok so am looking at some acl bearings http://www.aclperformance.com.au/SubaruEJ20EBearings.htm probably go race series is that the extra x on the part number? so 4B8296H is std oil clearance and race is 4B8296HX + 0.001" Extra? am i right or way off here? Cheers cheers
  24. yea i mentioned that in other post its "racegas" dont know what it actually is but over the old waimak bridge towards kaipoi
