  1. nah not serious about it ae ej25 tt that would be interesting whats a good size to make downpipes? and the rest of the system should i stick to one size or slowly change the size towards the rear of car
  2. ok so with a gen II rsb i had a pod on mine and i dont want one anymore lol do they come with thatair feed from the gaurd that the pics show the 99gtb does? im guessing earlier on in the topic the person that covered thecut end of the intake in gaurd just ran it directly to the front? so really the intake goes from your feed at front through the gaurd wall and then into the cut off part of chamber and then back through the wall and into the afm ? is there not a shorter way of doing it?
  3. yea but i dont want to go parralleli was just looking for some good ideas for headers for my sequential
  4. ok the reason i am asking is that im looking for an upgrade that i can fabricate myself aswell as the rest of the exhaust i dont want to change to parrallel so should i just keep the shock headers? and concentrate on the downpipes and centre sections? do these look any good? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=230469205
  5. changed the way i wrote it as b4 i got confused just reading it what are the difference's/similarities between and pros and cons 1 standard bd/g5 headers and uppipes compared to 2 say aftermarket brand zerosports 3 Parrallel 4 Equal Length and which will fit a sequential TT with vf20 and vf 21
  6. yea cool as just to much of a gap? between cylinders firing or does the factory tt manifold somehow run all 4 cylinders to the turbo running?
  7. ok theres something i dont quite get with the subaru ej20 engine this is probably a noob question but it seems to puzzle me a bit the firing order is 1324 right? which is (imagine your in the car) RF,RR,LF,LR so with twin turbo ? would it not be more logical to run a left and a right header to each turbo? would make it shorter , equal length and not as complicated? or would it only work on an engine with say firing order of 1432? also maybe it may help me a little further to understand how the factory manifold works as i dont have my car at the moment i prosume it has 1 from each side and the other comes from the cylinder fired 2nd after right? with the left and right header would it make it laggier or just not work very well at all? or is it worth just trying and if it dont work sell as some good NA headers lol
  8. ok sweet so generally the crankcase movement closing bearing clearances isnt really much of a problem? on most close to standard set ups? getting it done through (gotasuby)
  9. im more worried about block surfaces at the other end moving? with the headgaskets is there a seal problem at the deck surface you are refering to? i dont plan on hitting 7500 often im just looking for the ideal motor just incase i do and the cost is not much reallyfor a block if it improves the chances of me not having to shell out again for an engine rebuild what do people think of the ej20R internals i know the crank is forged? what about the rods and pistons semi forged ? forged? everyone seems to say something different
  10. i am in the middle of a decision at the moment my ej20R is about to get the rebuild treatment as well im just thinking for the price of a closed deck is it really worth getting one as the twin turbos do tend to rev a bit more? or is the closed deck only beneficial for higher boost and torque? i was thinking more along the lines of bearing movement? will that help with it? or will the ej20R open deck be fine? will a closed deck increase reliability car is standard apart from split rails and prova ecu so small timing advance 18psi max with 98+ octane 2.75" catback muffler and de snorkle 8000rpm(not that i would hit that)?
  11. ok so is there an oil seperator built into the rear of crank case of the ej20 engine? if not im keen to make 1 or even a catch can as a project when installing it do i pick up my intake from the2x breathers in the heads and off the rear crank case (the one that connects to pcv valve i think under the throttle body) onto the in of my seperator or catch tank and then run the out (clean air) from there into the pcv valve under the throttle body ? where does the line from the intake go from there ? tee it into the out and put on the pcv valve? can somebody tell me if thats correct or not?
  12. lol hookers and beers hahah the misses wouldnt b to happy wif that id like to know more about the jay car kit is it easy to install i dont really want to chop up my loom these are the parts previously mentioned right? CAT. NO. KC5422 RRP $11.90 Intercooler Water Spray Controller 03/06 Ref: Silicon Chip March 2006 Intercooler water sprays are a very effective and inexpensive way of upgrading intercooler performance. Using a 'dump' system to trigger the spray often results in the need for frequent water top-ups. Simply add these few components to the Smart Fuel Mixture Display Kit (KC-5374) and reduce water consumption by up to two-thirds with no loss in cooling efficiency. QTY 1+ $11.90 5+ $10.70 and Smart Fuel Mixture Display for Fuel injected Cars Ref: High Performance Electronics Projects for Cars - Silicon Chip Publications. We have sold thousands of mixture display kits over the years, providing many enthusiasts with a great meter for their car. This new ‘smart’ version has a few additional touches such as auto dimming for night driving, emergency lean-out alarm, and better circuit protection. Another great feature is the ‘dancing’ display which operates when the ECU is operating in closed loop. Closed loop means that the air/fuel ratio is optimum for fuel economy and emission performance. Kit supplied with PCB and all electronic components. * Car must be fitted with air flow and EGO sensors (standard on all EFI systems) for full functionality.
  13. with the v7 part does it allready have the remote reservoir or do i have to modify it to make it fit the older 97 rsb the main question is will this make much of a difference anyway compared to standard with small fan for in town use and waterspray
  14. and what is that from ? remote reservoir whats that? is that when it doesnt sit on top of the master cylinder and is pipe fed?
  15. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Subaru/Engines/auction-229171525.htm was looking at this intercooler as well what do i need to get ot make it fit 97 rsb do i need a special brake or clutch master cylinder? would that be a good upgrade? will look to direct air through and water spary aswell would the effort be worth it ?
  16. trying to not get o far away from the topic? what dya use as the pump ? where is the best place to mount it? going to make up my own cooling panel for intercooler to direct air over it directly
  17. so where the best place to start with a water sprayer?
  18. may just try a few things i guess the trouble is there arent many for my car so was trying to keep away from upgrading and just making what i have better (water spray and fan) and if i did upgrade after reading the rest of this discussion it doesnt seem like there is much point unless im running a large single turbo and around 250+kw on a racecar going flat for 5 or 10laps also found http://www.autospeed.co.nz/cms/A_0868/article.html http://www.autospeed.co.nz/cms/A_107759/article.html
  19. yea i guess but wouldnt that be the same deal as radiator fans on radiators? or is the space just to small ?
  20. so any ideas on water sprayers? what if the fan is under drawing air flow through the intercooler rather than on top ?
  21. ive been wondering what to do with my rsb in terms of intercoolers where alot of people say fmic on tt is laggy etc etc but i dnt feel many have tryed it properly or at least posted alot of info on it a fmic is a bit much for me i was thinking what about using an electric fan on the top mount to draw through cooler air from the boonet scoop down through the cooler and out the bottom? maybe would have to make up a special intercooler cover so it didnt just rotate hot air through it i was searching through some other forums like scoobynet.com and legacycentral.org and a canister mentioned earlier in the thread is for the antilag also found this website could be good for some ideas http://www.subaruwrcspares.com/
  22. sweet as hw did the rims go ? im guessing it a general problem with the b4 maybe its a pain in the but cos its put black marks all down the pillar
  23. sorry if its in the wrong section wasnt sure what it should be under
  24. heya, my girlfriend has just bought a subaru and its just rained lol the problem is the front right hand wiper is funny the rest go fine what happens is that its like the wiper goes to far on the wiping motion and then the returning motion and goes off the window and trys to wipe the drivers side to then coming back it bangs down on the bottom on the window/steel any idea?
