  1. Yeah i dont diss agree with the 5km servicing. But doing it yourself with quality oil for $80 and taking it to say Subaru who will do it for $200 soon adds up. I will have to contact them tomorrow in regards to picking up a policy off them anyway as i do not have one as of yet.
  2. Thanks for your help guys. Whats the deal with servicing etc? Every 5000km on the dot by a Subaru main agent im guessing?
  3. Morning Driftrex, Many thanks for the detail in your post. Just what i was looking for! Both cars i am primarily looking at dont have any mods except for being lowered on springs. Have you discontinued your policy with them now? When you say 'clutch' are you emplying that they replaced it when it reached the end of its life through general wear and tear?
  4. Oh ok. Sounds reasonable and worth the investment of $20.00 a month. Just trying to guage whether they are the company to go with. From the gist they seem the most reputable?
  5. Hi all, Just wondering who is with / has dealt with Autosure for their mechanical warrantys. Good company? How much do they set you back? Just looking at a 1998-1999 WRX STI, but definetely would not be buying one (or a turbo subaru in general) again without one. Any help would be much appreciated, Ben
  6. haha i was going to say =p
  7. you CANT be considering doing that to the B4 are you ?
  8. Pretty sure you bring your own. Never been to the KV one but i hear its rather expensive for what you get for your dollars. Not sure whats happening tonight. Looks like its going to be a wet, winter chilled one though =/
  9. I agree. Go the 6.5 evo =D . . . good event . Was great having a well organised event. No delays and a steady flow of cars. Amusing how many people paid their entry fee only to socialise / drink in the car park haha
  10. What day? time? Guessing wed 6pm but . .
  11. Hey mate, yeah standard legacy B4 mags and standard toyota altezza mags. 215/45/17
  12. Hi all, Have two cars i am needing to interchange the tyres with (swap tyres from one car to another and vice versa). Just wondering whether anyone works in a garage or something who would want to do a perk job one evening. Happy to supply a 24 pack or what ever. Thanks, Ben
  13. Haha im not tempting fate. Planning on putting it up for sale in the next couple of weeks. Yeah mate sounds good
  14. Sounds like a good enough idea to cruise down to inverz for a day trip . . to watch that is
  15. that brought back horrid memories!
  16. Cheap fixes are always good 8)
  17. had a 03 forester with same problem. Best course of action is to follow these steps http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f77/solved-window-wind-noise-16049/ Works a treat and does reduce the wind noise a fair bit.
  18. yeah haha. Going to look at a car tonight and mainly just wanted to know whether finance was owing on the car or not while i was there (number plates have been whited out on auction listing)
  19. HI all, Anyone remember the number you used to be able to text message the plate of a car to, you would then get brief info whether the car is financed etc? used to cost $1 per message or something!
  20. Just a update, replaced the 5cm long pipe and coolant leak has gone! What a mission though about 4 hours to complete. Hardest part was getting the 3 intercooler pipes to fit back on. Not sure if completely on snug will check tomorrow, can hear a wee bit of air suction when boosting but im not getting any performance loss . Thanks anyway guys ;D
  21. oh ok thanks. will take that into advice when bleed is done. Cheers
  22. Well, i whipped the intercooler off today. and it appears a hose from my heating system had split. Only a piece maybe 5-6cm long. Must be the same one that went on yours Redbeer. Was not a standard fitment piece so will have to go and pick one up from subaru tomorrow.
