  1. I have just been through the same problem with my BP, turned into bit of a nightmare. I originally just wanted to plug in an Ipod to the factory setup.. and bought a Harmon Kardon drive and play, waste of time and as there is no aux input in the standard unit, the FM modulator was the only option, and that was very average. I ended up bypassing the whole system and mounting an ipod only headunit in the top vent pocket, and it works great. The double din conversion panels are very expensive and this is by far the cheapest option, from AVOJDM the genuine Subaru kits for this end up costing about $160 shipped ex Japan. They say 04+ but im sure the 03 is the same fitment. http://www.avojdm.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_54_60&products_id=115 and as you have the non nav model with the standard pocket size (unlike me, as I have to fill in a gap around edges) it will be a direct swap and look almost factory. This way you can easily convert back to factory and take the after market headunit with you when you sell the car. Edit: just realised this original post was from 09', oh well might help someone else now.
  2. OK cheers guys, I get the point, turbo is the way to a real boost (excuse the pun) but for just a little better breathing and throttle response etc is it a waste of time with pod filter, exhaust etc? are the factory set ups really that efficient? I come from a Vtec background, and they always really benefit from better than stock breathing, but hey... I'm here to be educated. Oh and Jesus, is it an EZ30D? I'm a little confused as to the difference, car is a 2004 3.0r Legacy (import).
  3. Hey guys, Not sure how many guys on here have 3.0r's? but I haven't had much luck finding info on people modifying them. I have seen the huge power people in the States are getting from Turbo/SC conversions, but I'm just looking at mild upgrades I/H/E etc, just really wondering what gives the best bang for bucks really, with this being my first Suby, I'm not sure what improvements I could expect to see from the N/A boxer. Cheers in advance.
  4. +1 for the Parapara's between Raetihi and Wanganui, awesome bit of road as the speed limit is often plenty fast enough to be enjoyable, just choose your time of day/year as black ice and slips can be a problem in places.
