So i thought, odd. Googled the number and found this...

Funny. Will send abusive email after work :)

I got the very same txt from this person, but the email address is [email protected]... Useless fockers! I didn't bother replying to them.

  2. Hey Team,

Just wondering if anyone's got any ideas about what could be wrong with my brakes in my Legacy...

I have no braking at the drivers side front wheel... Have tried a different calliper, bled brakes numerous times, etc. No fluid appears to be getting to the calliper, as when the brakes are pumped, and the pots contract back in, it seems to suck air in...

It's not the ABS unit as that's all working fine - so I'm guessing there's a block between the brake booster unit and the ABS unit thing?

Or maybe the booster unit is buggered?

What ya'll think? Car is at Magoo Muffler and Brake in Riccarton Road this morning - so hopefully they don't charge me an arm and a leg to sort it! :)

  3. Hey Team,

Being that it's a fricken long time since I've owned a turbo car, I'm not sure what oil would be best for my 2000 Legacy B4.

She's due for an oil and filter change in 800kms, so just wondering what you guys recommend?

Also - does anyone know what oil filter she needs?

    Cheers,

    Leese

  4. In answer to your question - Sorry dude I'm not sure...

I have an HKS SSQV BOV on my twin turbo Legacy, am I supposed to have one for each turbo? (As there's only one BOV under the bonnet...) Sorry for the dumb question - I'm new to the whole twin turbo thing...

I for one am a 16yr old in a "twin turbo'd road legal race car" and I DO understand the damage that can be caused by high-speeds.

I think this law is a step in the right direction but I can tell that responsible young drivers such as myself may face a lot of police attention over the next few years with this new crackdown on "young racers" - which is a shame, stereotypes are never good. But as said earlier, those that aren't in the wrong shouldn't have anything to fear provided the police don't take this new power to their heads.

On a side note I for one think the current motorbike scheme is an epic failure. I have ridden my brother's CBR250 and I tell you it's definitely not a "learners bike". Not to mention my rm250 has no trouble at putting a smile on my face when I open the throttle. But the government is moving in the right direction with HP restrictions rather than displacement. I think a similar HP scheme could work quite well with cars as well. It would mean I would have to give up my RS though..... :-\ on the otherhand, I'll save lots on insurance ;)

great to see a high level of maturity dude. this attitude is what clubs need. i am flabergasted

+1 - fantastic attitude from someone so young! Also OT - your literacy is great too, too many young ones these days don't know how to spell in plain english - just txt speak! :)

    (nominal fee :P )

I'm a real perfectionist, so would rather pay someone to supply/use professional grade tint (not crap quality Repco or Supercheap stuff) - and I don't want any bubbles, scratches, marks etc...

Thank you though! :) (Please don't take that the wrong way - I really suck at describing stuff without it coming across a bit shitty LOL).

At a guess I'd say its more likely to be pistons that are rattling when cold. How many km's does your engine have on it? Not always the end of the world and again normally due to wear over time.

    Engine has only done 75,000kms...

Depending on what model you have, your engine may have the factory forged pistons which can rattle a bit when cold. Even if it doesn't, just let it warm up before pushing it i.e. drive slowly below 3k rpm until the water has been up to temp for at least 3-5 mins (by then the oil should also be up to temp too).

Thank you - I have a 2000 RSK B4 :) I never take it over 3000 RPM until she's full warmed up :) Thank you for your help dude!!

I Almost got divorced the other week When i suggested that i buy a set of those yummy pink speakers to put in Mrs sti.... LOL

At least you know you've got an easy out (grounds for divorce) if you ever needed one LOL!

On the question of is my car a boy racer car: Yes, I guess the police would see it that way?

    Why:

    Turbos - check

    Bonnet scoop - check

Young(ish) blonde girl driving - check

    Stereo/Sub/Amp - check

The general public often view anything with mags, a bonnet scoop and a young person driving as a boy racer car!

  11. Hey guys,

I just bought a new headunit on Saturday and Matt and Ross kindly installed it for me. However, after reading in the shop (and testing my iPod with the headunit in the store) that my iPod will work with the headunit - it does not...

The headunit is a Sony Xplod CDXGT55IP and my iPod is a Nano 4th Generation. Everyone else's iPods work with the bloody thing, but mine doesn't :( My boyf has a Nano 3rd Gen, and Ross tested his iPhone - they both worked fine.

The error I get when it tries to connect is: COMM ERROR

I've tried googling it, and it appears a few people are having this issue... No-one mentions any fixes though!!

So my question is - does anyone on here know how to resolve this?? ???
