  1. Car - 2006 Subaru Legacy 3.0R-B WAGON with McIntosh factory 12 speaker system. So I have the standard issue that the factory McIntosh sub has split (I got it repaired at Axent Audio in Auckland but within a few weeks it had split in another place) so I am keen to replace it. I have fitted a blue-tooth kit to the factory McIntosh head unit as I quite like the factory set up, and basically couldn't justify the massive effort and price in changing out the head unit with it being interconnected with the dual zone climate a/c unit. I have found a replacement Sub which is a KENWOOD EXCELON KFC-XW800F SHALLOW-MOUNT 8″ 4-OHM SUBWOOFER from Driving Sound on Dominion Road - kenwood-excelon-kfc-xw800f-shallow-mount-8-4-ohm-subwoofer. The McIntosh is 4 ohm and so is the Kenwood unit I have found. I like my music but wouldn't say I particularly crank it all that much, thus I am not keen to go and "start again" with the whole system in order to get some that is next level. I want to know if the Kenwood unit will work as a straight replacement and will work with the factory amp (under passenger seat) as I have read some forums which make me think it won't, but the people at Driving Sound seem to think it will. The next issue is fitting it into the back right corner of my wagon, as although the unit isn't any deeper it is slightly wider overall (behind the front of the sub) so the bracket space needs to be increased. I could pay another $200 bucks and get box for it but then I loose some boot space the factory look which is quite important to me. As I am new to Auckland, I wondered if there is an automotive fabricator/chippie or someone else handy who I should/could get to do it. I just need some assistance in carving out some more space in that back right corner and creating a slot for the new sub. I am happy to pay the money to get it done properly as opposed to stuffing it up myself! A quick Google landed me on "Stu's Trim and Sound in Manukau. I am sure they could do it easily enough - any other suggestions or comments on the above in terms of things I have overlooked?! cheers. Mark
  2. Hello everyone i have a 2001 bh5d legacy. The car has a really worn down steering rack and I am wondering what steering wracks are compatible with the car. Can I use a steering wracks of a wrx or sti? I'm am looking for a better feel because if something breaks it's good to replace it with something better. Should I just use a stock legacy steering rack with upgraded bushings and mounts (if that's a thing) thanks. Myzeeman
  3. Hi Guys, I am looking to swap my Tein Flex Z coilovers and Hardrace camber arms (approved for LLV cert) for complete standard bilstein struts and springs. Reason is i never certed them and now am selling the car minus the wheels so am just going to return car back to stock and get it a wof and sell it. The coilovers are $2100 new and the camber arms are $330 - all details per below links. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/suspension-braces/listing-2205624296.htm?rsqid=6fb72f57ac3f4cfe8e1a70a1a524ef99-002 https://www.redlineperformance.co.nz/product/hardrace-subaru-legacy-1998-08-rear-camber-arms/ I am looking for $750 cash and your standard struts (i do not require your standard camber arms as i still have those) - Must be the bilstein shock absorber type. Goods are in pretty good condition and are still in car and can be veiwed in east auckland (pakuranga). Car is a legacy wagon 2006 BP5 so would obviously have to be the same shape and compatible year. Please contact me on 021 131 0363 if interested. Cheers Kenian
  4. I'm looking for the owner of a 1999 Gf8 Sti. The number plate is cju129. I know this might seem weird but a while back, around the start of this year I saw the car posted up on Trade Me. At that point in time I didn't have the funds to be able to purchase it, but now I have the right amount and was wondering if anyone could help me in tracking down the owner, in the hope that they might be willing to sell it. I know this seems like a long shot but I've been on the hunt for a nice Gf8 for a while now and this one is exactly what I'm looking for. I have a screenshot of it from nzbuysell.com where it was posted up months ago, but in all honesty have no clue how to add it to this post. (I'm new to the forum) From the information I've gathered it was sold from Manukau Park and Sell sometime this earlier this year and has around 120,000 kms on the clock. The paintjob is dark metallic grey. Cheers for any help in advance.
  5. Wondering if anyone can help me out with this.. Im looking to put Ver7 Sti wagon rear seats into my BH5 legacy wagon. Any and all info regarding this would be very appreciated. I have already started the swap and am soon realizing the trouble ive gotten myself into .. Ive done a full 6 speed driveline swap into the legacy already and have the front ver 7 seats installed and really want to fit the ver 7 wagon seats in to match!
  6. G'day, i have recently bought a 1992 GT legacy wagon in manual. Completly stock at the moment except for a 2.5'' turbo back exhaust. Over the next year looking to make 300awhp. Am willing to spend 7g. I have already brought a v5 sti gear box and fuel pump but yet to install. I have a few ideas where to go from here but all advice is appreciated. Cheers
  7. Hi guys, I have an 03 Legacy wagon with the base (kenwood) stereo in it. I have an opportunity to buy the McIntosh stereo, amp and speakers with door cards for only $250. Just wondering if this sort of a conversion is possible or if it isnt worth the hassle? Thanks, Sam
