Just about to follow up on laser cutting the panels.
Otherwise just a couple of code tweaks left for key pad to be finished.
Hopefully I can assemble 5 or so this week. Have a new variant of the processor that I need to test in the next one so that could delay things.
Into sure I act posted but the keypad is two rows of 4 keys and a knob. It’s sized to fit in the single DIN stereo cutout with 3cm gap on one side. That way it can be installed over a pocket and still has room to shove an aux or usb cable for your phone. Or the cable from your ECU can hide in there.
Started a 32 button pad for between the front seats. Why because race car, that’s why.
The design has 4x4 space 40mm apart and. all recessed in their own cutouts,so they are hard to knock. It the cutout is egg shaped so guides you finger to button and wide enough to use with race gloves.
The rear section is 5x4 with smaller circular recesses for less used functions, eg force fuel pump on etc. whatever your ecu can do via a can message.
They all have coloured LEDs for status too.
It’s all software driven so could add feature to send a custom message to car rather than ecu. So far it just sets messages about button presses like to the link and generic keypads. That would allow it to be more useful if some of the OEM computers are still installed, or even gearbox messages to force gears or diff etc.
