sorry, actually forget about it. i rang the owner and he cant seem to tell me anything about the car.... who did the engine work, how long he had it for, how is the ecu reflash etc.. all he can tell me is the tyres are near new...

theres a s4 rx7 for sale on trademe which im interested in buying but only problem is im in christchurch. +1 to hijacka. he worked on my car and was very good. also future reference. dont go to margoo to get work done. got quote for new front rotors and pads for my b4 for $800 and supply and fit big bore for $450 LOL

looking to change the fuel filter on my v4 sti, would it be better to use genuine or would supercheap auto/repco stuff be ok. i\'ve heard storys about cheap filters clogging and causing problems before. what do you guys use on ur car??

got the horn and downpipe gasket sorted. now, still having the surge problem. hopefully will be getting a stock bov for it in the next few days, hope that will fixthe surge problem!? 1 more thing, i can still hear the whistle/ringing sound while driving at 60-70 90-105ks(roughly).. i have checked and changed most of the lines already. it doesn\'t sound like a leak sound and also when im boosting it, the sound goes away. i think i will getting hijack to look at the car for me when i get b to chch but meanwhile, i would like to try and sort as much as i can. if anyone know anything about a ringing sound while driving, can let me know where its coming from and how to fix. my guess its from the turbo since the cat is gone.?

thanks for the reply team, im sure i never heard that sound until i got car back from jon from spec performance.... Or maybe i haven been driving it at a high enough speed... Either way, i will try sort those 2 problems tomorrow. Also the horn has stopped working all of a sudden.. Loving the never ending problems with the car...

Yup compressor surge. BoV is set too hard. Soften it or put the stock back on. was looking at putting stock 1 back on but the 2 pipes for it cost around $170 from armstrong! ouchy

shit, i drove for 4 hours with that.... i will check all the boost lines when i get b home. hope that fixes it. this is the sound my bov makes when i shift at 3k rpm (at 0:06) , but if i shift say at 5000rpm, it goes back to a loud pssshhhhhh sound.

just drove from chch to piction in my gc8, although im almost deaf from the sound of the exhaust... i notice there was a whistle like sound coming from the car\'s engine bay when i was driving it the whole way. i can only hear it when im driving between 90 to 100k in 5th gear. at first i thought it was the music, but then after listening to it for a while, im sure its the car thats making it. just wondering if any1 knows if it\'s the sound of the turbo or is it something else? the car drove all the way up with no problem at all, apart from the sound. also, since fitted the catless downpipe, when i lift off the throttle at 3000rpm, it makes the same sound as a butterfly bov.. except my bov is not a butterfly bov.. is that normal aswell?

soo. after changing the fuel pump, i notice that when the car had about 1/4 a tank left, i get fuel surge when i try to go around corner while going at a reasonably quick speed?? i was told not to use the walbo fuel sock as i could get problems with fuel surge.. but when i took the pump out, i used the the standard sock and im still getting surge at 1/4 tank?? does anyone know why this is happening??

they too expensive. my flatmate knows Jon from spec quite well so i just went to him instead. the install and tune cost me $478. i also had the exhaust and brackets modified for $140. my engine is just standard ej20k, bottom end rebuild at 59,000ks, now at 87**ks. only got turbo back exhaust, walbo pump and boost controller.

got my car back from spec performance today after getting fuel controller installed and tuned. made 213kw atw. jon said he could hear slight detonation. so lowered the boost a bit. it now makes the 189.7kw on 14.5psi. (before was 182kw) will be looking to get injectors sonic cleaned and re-tuned, then will be able to bump back up to 17psi again and get some good results.

lol hope it goes alright on the dyno. drove all the home with no problems. can actually hear the sound of turbo spinning up which is good. will see u on sat or sun about the intercooler fitment and fuel pump issue.. might even look into the air con if have time?
