  1. Had a query when using a ej205 block with v3/v4 wrx ej20g heads is it better to use it with ej20k sti head gasket or with the ej205 headgasket. Trying to come to a conculsion because every one seems to suggest either.

  2. had a look at the car its in a real sad state they have taken everything in the interior right down to even the washer sprays. all the door cards. so only things left are a shell glass and interior carpet with the wiring in not to much of a bad state. they have also taken the vin and subaru tags as well. so dont know if the shell is of any use as well. so car is most likely to end up in a metal scrap.

  4. thanks for the reply

my engine is pretty much stock except for the short block. i was originally running a td05h but blew the water seals on it when a hose popped and took out the headgasket as well. so i am gona be running the stock td04 turbo for the running in period. my only problem i faced was since i run a apexi gt spec intercooler i found the car running a bit rich due to the fact its still running a maf sensor and that was was only worry, do you guys reckon that would be ok for the running in period?

yea was thinking of running sae30 w oil for the running in and then switching over to a synthetic blend after the run in period. that does sound like a good idea of running it of waste gate pressure will do that just to be safe.

  5. hey had some query's

i am currently rebuilding my engine and going to be using forged je pistons with a compression ratio of 8.5:1 with eagle rods and subaru bearings. my query being since its a 98 v4 wrx which runs on grey injectors was wondering if you all would reckon that would be safe for running in the block and then getting it tuned or get a tune for it for the running in period since i have standalone ecu which is a link g4. i was originally planning on running in the block with the stock ecu and injectors and then after the running in getting it a tune with a larger turbo and injectors.

what would you guys suggest for me to do and your experience would also help.

i see a 12.9 in that car. whats ur best et

hey haha i wish it goes that quick, thats the best et planning on putting some new tires and the ecu soon if all goes as planned before the next drag was running on bald tires since my tires since my tires were pretty much on the tread haha.

btw does any one know how much boost pressure does a stock wrx td04 boost?

  7. @ lazlo i am from auckland but no have a wrx sedan this is the only subaru i own.

@ sultan nah its pretty much stock engine wise no increased boost or any such thing only runs a fujitsobu fgk exhaust and a shit pod filter. was pretty shocked with the timings as well since didnt guess a stock wrx would run that fast. ran a 13.9 at the last event which blew the oil pump silicon gasket so had to remove it and put a better silicon gasket on it which held this event haha

will be running at the next event as well if every thing goes as planned a tmic converted to a bar and plate and a link ecu.

will update with a timing slip soon.
