The last decent road tyres Bridgestone made were the so2’s.

.
The first shipment of pilot sport 4’s were a softer compound and had less writing on the sidewalls. The NZ tyres have a harder rubber compound.I have the 4’s also on my Outback.
s02 is still current and quite different from the old s-02.
as good as past bridgestone greats like the re070 and re01r ?
with regard to softer compounds on the ps4, there's also a ps4s
that's a totally different tyre and replaces the old supersport

not heard anything about country of manufacture vs. quality on the ps4.
if you want long wearing tyres, look no further than laufenn (treadwear 360) or achilles (treadwear 400).
you may not stay on the track but you'll have plenty of tread left.

what car are they going on ?
the michelin pilot sport 4 is a superb road tyre.
seemed very popular at the last playday too.
just be aware different sizes are made in different plants - i've seen them from spain, thailand, portugal ?
everywhere but france !
i have a set of pilot sport cup 2's coming for my new car (off a new focus rs).
the ultimate road tyre but not so great in winter.
car owner switched to the new pilot sport 4s.

manufacturers appear to take a random approach too.
i've been looking at renault megane rs lately and have found most have a leather knob with shift pattern on it.
but some limited editions have a fancy metal knob with no markings and no placard in the car.

why is an sti not as good to daily or road trip in ?
maybe the sti coupe with lower gearing can get tiresome over a long distance but the sti sedan and hatch were fine.

I haven't heard anything about it been cause they used the wrong one. That's actually the big one that gets confused, yes they both 2.3L but they actually different engines. The RS engine is a reworks Focus ST (2.0) engine and not the mustang 2.3 one.
there is only one basic ecoboost 2.3, based on the older ecoboost 2.0, albeit in different states of tune for explorer, mustang, focus.
forgot about the duratec 2.5, a that was a sweet little v6, the best part of the old radisich telstar

agree above.
i wouldn't overthink it.
i've seen roadcars and racecars go nugganugga
take some basic precautions as previously mentioned and go enjoy yourself.

st was a product of ford of europe !
a subsidiary yes but largely autonomous and creator of some fine performance cars whereas the yanks make nice trucks.
which rs wheels did you get ?
mk2 many spoked ones or mk3 ?

hahaha Actually lets be honest It prob is one of the most confused cars, Its an American Car... Designed in the UK, Built in Germany, Powered my Swedish engine, Sold in Japan and Owned by a South African Living in New Zeland.
amurican ?
2nd gen focus st wasn't sold in usa
the us focus was awful and should never have been born.
have you weighed up stock 18s with tyres vs rs 19s with tyres ?
there might not be as much weight saving as you think unless your stock wheels are stupidly heavy like my golf.
-
keep saving for some decent tyres, you get what you paid for
you sure you want to go racing on 19s ?
-
what size ?

hi sean,
renaultsport cars have quite a following in the uk and aus.
renault calls the paint liquid yellow - was a $1000 option in aus. but a no-cost paint option in nz.
subaru sonic yellow like my old sti was a flat, dull yellow.
this is bright and sparkly
let the first or second owner take the hit
high performance euros like audi rs, merc amg - all seem to depreciate more heavily than the lesser models.
the only exception are the real bmw m-cars, which still depreciate but not as savagely as something with RS or AMG on the badge.
