How bout starting by upgrading pads in brakes you have...
There are some really good race pads about now..
I seem to think that people have a misconception that standard brakes on any car are shit..
I still run standard size in my car just with race pads all round..
I'm doing 1:23's round manfield and have not had fade yet.

Does anybody have any expiernce of a vf10 on a bc5
I have been having a problem with my boost dropping higher up in the rev range in 3rd 4th 5th.
Chip is supposed to hold 14psi but it spikes up to that at 3200 then tapers off down to 11-12 after 4000rpm
I have had a look at the turbo but the model number at the front has been (for some reason) ground off.
Could this be that the turbo fitted is a vf10 instead of a vf8...
Yeah you will feel it when it kicks in...
The Air-con compressor is just a high pressure pump
It takes 40psi inlet pressure and bumps it up to discharge high pressure of 160psi...
That and the start when the Compressor clutch engages is basically an instantaneous 0-4000 rpm shock load on the motor...
Air con uses on average about 4% of the power your car makes.....
The difference in normal daily driving is so small that you would barely notice.
And yes if you don't use it regularly the compressor seals will dry out and the refrigerant will begin to leak.
This was the reason that a hell of a lot of the early Jap import cars needed to be regased when they first come into the country.

First up. With the symptoms you described i would have thought that the first thing you should have done is stop and look under the big piece of metal that sits out front of your windscreen. (It's called a bonnet.)....
2nd.. I would be getting a new workshop to do your servicing...
Those belts are CLEARLY JUNK.. this is not the sort of thing that happens overnight.
Any workshop worth anything would have told you that the belts were stuffed.
boost tapers off after 5000 in 3rd 4th 5th. i shift at 6000
In 1st an 2nd it only makes 10psi
And yeah when i ran the tap i had it completely independent of the standard boost control.
Can yours hold that much boost right up through the rev range or does the boost level taper off as the revs rise?
Mine is doing this with the VF8... lower down in revs it sits at 14psi but the boost slowly falls down to 11-12 up the rev range..
Running a 14psi chip on the standard boost control solenoid..
I know that the restrictor pill is not in any of the wastegate lines
When i tried a boost bleed tap i could not get any control. It was either free boosting or Wastegate pressure.7psi.
Any ideas boys?
