  1. Sounds like a good idea. Anyone else got any preferences on date and/or location?
  2. Speaking of a Welly meet - does anyone have any dates in mind? And ideas of where and what you want to do? For example another club Im in is doing a Saturday day cruise to Palmy, no particular reason it seems - just a cruise and a chance to stop and take pics at a few different places. Of course, we dont have to go anywhere. But it would be good to organise something As I think Ive already mentioned Im keen for a Saturday meet up at some stage
  3. I found a factory airbox at pick a part in the end. Nice and quiet now with almost no intake noise
  4. Im keen, as long as its not a Sunday - as I am busy at hillclimbs or autocrosses for the next two months. I would personally prefer a Saturday, as most people dont work Saturday and allows for some daylight to check out each others cars
  5. Shred Industries in Wellington stock Scarles kits and I have actually just talked to them about getting one of these kits. If it goes ahead I will post up opinions for you.
  6. I could be keen on a wellington BC/F5 meet
  7. I know, but thats where misinformation starts doesnt it...? Next we will have people saying their STi can beat a Legacy in reverse - its the beginning of the end when STi owners think they can take us
  8. http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php?topic=1520.0 outlines how to do a twisted turbo setup.
  9. No way he could beat you in reverse. Reverse in the average gearbox pulls less than 50km/hr. I ran my BC5 (Gen 1 Legacy) down the quarter at Laws Rd and did a 13.8 - back when it only had basic exhaust/intake/more boost.
  10. Mine was like this: And now its more like this, however I dont have any interior pics - so this is probably the best I can do sorry:
  11. Shred Industries. But they just get it in off their supplier. So wouldnt be any cheaper to buy through them than anywhere else I dont imagine. But they are good guys so Im sure they can help you out
  12. I will be getting it via my sponsor sorry, so cant get other people deals
  13. I know Whiteline make a 22mm adjustable bar to suit a BC5 - I have a friend with one and Im planning on getting one too.
  14. I did. About page 3 or 4. In between Shale and someone arguing.
  15. Im with InsureDirect/Inbroke (same place). They have always been good to me, so I have stuck with them. Im over 25 and pay $1000 a year in premiums, with an excess of $750 on theft. Ive lost my license twice before and park the car on the street (BG5 GTB) yet they keep dropping my premiums every year and dropped about $500 a year for when I turned 25 as well. So I would have to recommend them as very reasonable to deal with. Ohh and they were willing to insure my RS Legacy rallycar for about the same money - this is a car with cage, harnesses, seats, coilovers, different engine/turbo/intercooler/ECU etc.
  16. Awesome, thanks guys! Out of curiousity - what sorta price were you paying for a set? Just to compare to what Ive been offered. Thanks, Vivian
  17. You can get a 2nd hand set for $300 - $400 generally. However expect them to only last a year or so. Autolign quoted just on $1k a wee while back to rebuild a set of factory BG5 Bilsteins for me. But that may have gone up now, I imagine the price Loren mentioned would probably be pretty accurate. Realistically - just buy a set of new shocks, whether you go for an OEM replacement like Boge or KYB etc or buy some coilovers - they will probably work out at a similar price or cheaper than a rebuild...
  18. Anyone used them? Just wanting opinions on how good they are? Mainly interested in a pad that doesnt require heating up (its for my Legacy rallycar - so need to be working by the first corner!) Im asking as I have never used any Mintex pads before. However I have been offered a good deal on them.
  19. Loren - Rogers version of easy might be a little harder for the average joe....
  20. In Wellington I use: SubEuro Partsworld for secondhand parts (Not the cheapest, but does come with warranties etc.): www.partsworld.co.nz 04 237 5161 And for new parts, tuning etc: Shred Industries http://www.shredindustries.co.nz/ 04 569 7469 Can source pretty much anything you want, as well as being distributors and tuners for Links and Unichips. Have an inhouse 4WD dyno now too. And alot more reasonably priced than some of the bigger places too.
  21. I would be showing it off too if my car was that tidy
  22. (04) 5697469 http://www.shredindustries.co.nz If Geoffs around tell him Vivian recommended you talk to him.

    DIY STI Mudflap

Yeah its the ride height of the car - the coilovers are a bit too low. With the car at factory height it wouldnt be an issue. The material is quite good, thick but also flexible so although it has run into a few things already its not been an issue.
