  1. Yea I figure the quote is good and the fact they know my FULL history and are willing to cover me is awesome. Cheers everyone.
  2. The quote I got from CA was $700 per year with a $500 excess for accidents etc and $1300 for theft or vandalism.
  3. Is there anyone on here that has insurance through ClubAuto, and if so how have they been to deal with come claim time? I\'ve had a policies with AMI, State and AA and Lumley. The only car claim I\'ve made was with Lumley years and years ago when a car of mine was stolen and burnt out in Alexandra. Anyway, a driving conviction for careless driving a few years ago has me wondering about insurance and I\'ve been shopping around. Some places want to charge tons for insurance and then I came across ClubAuto, who even with my conviction etc are prepared to insure me for what I think is a good price. My question is has anyone made a claim through them and how were they to deal with? I worry when someone offers insurance at a good price irrespective of your past that when claim time comes round they\'ll be right pricks. Any feedback welcome.
  4. Sorry, the blue Legacy 3.0R Sedan with the Bremboes.
  5. I\'d forgotten all about this Legacy and the mods you\'ve done. Looking good bud !
  6. I used turps as we use at work on aluminium joinery to get rid of excess joint sealer. Just don\'t pour it all over the car and you\'ll be fine. I just splashed some on a rag and it came off easy.
  7. I definitely like the look of those colours, in saying that though I do think the wing mirrors are a little too much. I\'d still rock it though.
  8. I like it I like it too, have they painted it or is that plastidip?
  9. Awesome answer, thanks for that bud. I may just have to put my big boy pants on and get a 2004/5/6 Legacy turbo.
  10. I drive a 2001 Blitzen sedan that\'s getting long in the tooth and the time to get rid of the old girl is nearing. I\'d love a 2004/5 B4 single turbo but if finances don\'t allow I\'m liking the look of the Rev D editions. If any people on here own one and have driven an earlier model, how do they compare? Thanks.
  11. Me boosting around Ashburton? NEVER! LOL.
  12. Thanks guys, after a long stressful day\'s driving yesterday afternoon to CHCH and then back to Methven around 8pm I was in no state to think straight. The car wouldn\'t start at Rolleston BP and I got it jump started by a couple in a rental car. I got home and unpacked the car then went out to move it undercover and it wouldn\'t start again. I immediately thought it was the alternator. Took a look this morning and it turned out it was a filthy battery terminal, LOL. Oops, stupid me. Thanks for the advice and offers all the same. Cheers.
  13. Hey there guys. Going to be getting the car checked over tomorrow and suspect the alternator is poked. Can you guys tell me what price if be looking at to get a replacement, new or secondhand? Thanks.
  14. I know some guys on here have installed android tabs in their cars to act as stereos, good results from what I gather.
  15. Could be a few things, MAF/AFM or maybe O2 sensor? No check engine light?
  16. If you have nothing better to do than drive somewhere to help an idiot do a brake change I\'m certainly not gonna say no and would be massively thankful. I could do beers and lunch if you like? Just gotta get my shit sorted and will let you know when is good, if that\'s cool?
  17. Cool, I live in Methven so it\'s gonna be hard to come around and help, lol.
  18. I removed the front left wheel, removed front brake pads and bent back wear indicator and got rid of that god awful noise. Now to order some new pads and do a change, including new brake fluid.
  19. Ok, so bleeding the brakes is something I\'ve never done. I know the bleed nipple is around the back but have no idea how to go about bleeding the brakes and putting in new fluid. Is it a 1 person job or not? If it\'s a 1 person job please provide as much detail as possible. On a side note, got home from work and removed the pads and found the offending wear indicator. Pushed it back and voila, noise gone! Still gonna order a new set of brakes though. Cheers.
  20. Once new pads are in, is there a bedding in procedure or something to get the new pads working properly?
  21. That\'s what I meant when I said about a spanner across the pair of them and using a clamp of some kind. Thanks bud.
  22. Have done the back ones in the past with some help from Ryn in Dunedin. Surely shouldn\'t be too difficult or dissimilar?
  23. Thanks guys, I think I now know what I\'m looking at/for. Question regarding changing of the pads themselves. Obviously new ones will slot in easily enough. Getting the pistons back in or down if you know what I mean, that\'s another story. Would a spanner across the both of them work if I used a clamp of some kind?
