I stopped filling the tank just for the sake of it a long time ago now. I found the fuel consumption wasn\'t great if the gas had been in the tank for weeks and weeks. Nowadays I fill up enough to get me through a week at a time and it\'s good.

There\'s an entire thread about suitable oils and you\'ll find some "interesting" advice. Lol. If the mechanic said to use it then you\'re all good IMO. I use Castrol Edge 5w-30 by the way.

Absolutely a GC! Even cut the wires that made the car beep when you put it in reverse or have the keys in the ignition and door open. That beeping always annoyed the shit or of me!

Hey mate, I live in Methven too. I ended up getting it installed by a company in Ashburton. All up cost me $100 and it was money well spent. Whoever installed the other unit butchered the wiring and the aerial wasn\'t even connected! The guy that did the install let me sit in the car and watch what he was doing so that if I ever wanted to take the unit out or anything I\'d have a better idea.

Definitely feels a bit smoother and seems to idle a bit better too. I guess time will tell. Apparently rocker cover gaskets are leaking very very slightly so will need done in the future. That can wait til after Xmas.

Had it scanned, no codes in the system at all and all sensors are working as they should. Had a new air filter put in, new long life plugs and an upper engine clean.

Can you reflash the 3.0R? If so what kind of gains are there to be had? I was always under the impression the engine was pretty much as good as it was ever gonna be?

Mine were really bad and I wish I had taken before and after pictures. I ended up using Dulux cut and polish. We use it to buff out scratches from aluminium joinery at work. Works incredibly well!!!!!!!!!

Did NZ get any of the 2.5litre turbo Legacy\'s? I\'m sure the newer models, 2009 and on were 2.5lt turbo? Anything earlier I thought was destined for the US market? Although, I\'m sure there\'s a few jap imported Legacy XT\'s. Confused!

The 2006 models are coming sown in price all the time. I drove one in CHCH a few weeks ago that had done about 100ks and was selling for $13999. Saw another one on TM in Wellington that had done very similar k\'s for $12999. Both were auto/tiptronic versions. The one I drove was awesome, love the SI Drive. Some people say they can\'t feel a difference, they must be paralyzed from the ears down?

I haven\'t changed my driving style and as for boosting it, I just don\'t. I enjoy driving fast from time to time but only ever once I\'m already up to speed if you know what I mean? I have no idea what you mean about the air fuel gauges? I\'m sorry but I\'m not that clued up. I keep meaning to call the mechanic and get them to scan it but the last few days here have been super shitty and I\'m on ACC for a while so motivation is low to say the least. I\'ll call and ask if they can do a real time scan and see if anything jumps out at them as needing attention. Hoping it\'s as simple as a dud AFM or O2 sensor.
