  3. Hey i have a 1999 gf8 wrx and recently put $20 petrol to see how far it would go driving it softly and i got 40 kms is this normal? Almost 22 litres per 100 kms
  4. sweet will do no doubt ill prob order them out of china so wont have part numbers but any leds that are t5 and t6.5 and t10 are the ones to buy to fit the cluster but when i do i will order multi side leds so that there are no "hotspots" on the cluster as i find that to look rather tacky
  5. Ok pulled the cluster out and went to work (repco) had a look at bulbs but basicly found nothng brighter Although most the bulbs had a black oil film to them so i might replace them All in all i think i will invest in led bulb The bulbs it had were t 5 mainly it had 1 t10 and a couple of t6.5s
  6. just tried to take a photo but my camera wont even pick up the lights lol and ive just got the car so will look into if maybe the boost guage is hooked up via the lights also going to turn off the fogs lamps and see if its any brighter but i suspect it wont make a difference
  7. does your wrx have the white face dash or the black face dash it just seems so crap on my white faced one but will pull the cluster out maybe some are blown and im not aware of it
  8. ok ill pull the cluster out tomoro and see what wattage the bulbs are they should be 3watt and ill get some 5watt bulbs and see what happens then lol
  9. hi there i have a 1999 wrx version 6 with the white dash and at night time the dash lights are so dim and have looked all over for a knob or switch to changes this but cant seem to find on is there something else i can do to fix this?
  10. hi there i have a 1998 Subaru Legacy GTB BG5 and i have codes 23 and 24 replaced the afm (code 23) and the codes still there now im wondering about cleaning out the iacv is it possible to squirt carb cleaner down the tube into the iacv or do i have to remove the top mount to take it off?
  11. well knock sensors can have a very small crack or the sensor can fail common as replace that as thats what makes the car gutless and then sort out the boost issue if it still exists i prefer to reset my ecu by unhooking the battery for 1 hour
  12. cool cause i think i may have blown the inside to bits got an exhaust rattle but nothing obvious is moving on the exhaust
  13. hi there is it ok to remove the centre cat in my 1998 BG5 legacy GTB or will i cause harm to the turbo's etc...
  14. might want to check and see if you still have you powersteering/alternator belt on this got me in a previous car i had haha

  17. want a fuel efficient wrx??? well here you go haha http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-462009597.htm even in the oh so sporty automatic gearbox EDIT:fixed the fail english i used haha
  18. hi there i have a 1998 subaru legacy GTB and i have the codes 23 and 24 which are afm and the iacv well i brought a replacement orange are cleaning and resetting ecu failed to clear it and i reset the ecu today and put the replacement in and i went for a boost because my car has been down on boost used to be at .9 - 1 bar of boost on secondary and now only .7 and the codes are back again could it be possible that my iacv is causeing the AFM code or is it just down to bad luck that 2 are faulty also tried to clean the iacv but have lack of tools and i couldnt reach the bottom bolts of the unit without removing top mount and dont have the spare 5 hours to put it back on again
  19. in all honesty the auto engines are de tuned with different injectors and airflow meter as a result they put out like 20 kws less also for the money youre going to spend on converting it you may aswell sell your legacy and get a factory manual one
  20. was under the impression in my old wagon that the front one didnt open only the back

    AFM

yeah ive got a replacement on the way now i reset my ecu and my car was boosting .9 of a bar on secondary for a few times then it went down to .7 again im guessing when the code came back up so i need ot replace it lol
  22. this colour????? not a very clear photo but there my wheels from my GTB
  23. i was never a subaru fan untill i got my legacy but i love the deep rumble it makes but when you single them they dont sound as good plus you dont get the awesome put back in seat when you hit the secondary ive been in a v8 sti and they are fast but i wouldnt go outa my way to make mine single turbo as i prefer the twin
