  2. Hi everyone - I bought some 4 pot calipers off a WRX GC8 and have found that three of the pistons are seized up - I looked into getting some more pistons but because they are a weird size no one has them, the only other option is to get them relined Size 40.5mm (Outside diameter) 29.5mm high most others seem to be 41-2mm OD Any suggestions?
  3. My dad is looking at one - What does LL Bean mean?
  4. yea I know and thats not even giving it very much shit either
  5. Yea thanks mate I have given Nelson Bays Motor Group a rev up about not doing extra things on my car or anyones car without confirming it first - because It has been known to happen before! I find If you speak to the guys in the workshop there - preferably Nathan you will get on well and he knows a lot about the TT legacys too
  6. Thanks guys - but Subaru Is already half way through it now - the good thing now is that they said I took them shorter than they expected so It will be less than $600 now
  7. are any of your turbos doing anything? - what boost are you getting? - check AFM or Vac hoses - if your getting no boost a hose may have come off or something
  8. those mags and doors..... shouldn\'t really be classed as a Subaru - obviously the owner had no money and stupid ideas
  9. before I make any comments does this belong to anyone on Clubsub??? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/legacy/auction-530791698.htm
  10. yes and you have to take the manifold off to get to them
  11. yeah possibly, but with my job that I do, I dont have the time to do this job - it isn\'t an easy job and is quite time consuming
  12. Yes I have checked this out and there is no recall or warranty for this problem in NZ
  13. Have just had an explanation from Nelson Subaru about my fuel leak - there is a leak under the manifold off one of the rubber hoses - when they checked it out they found that fuel had been puddling on top of the engine - whenever I went to start the car - hence the shit fuel economy! Interesting - but will cost me $600ish for them to fix it for me!!
  14. Hi guys my E-tune 2001 Legacy has had a bit of a fuel smell through the air con in the cold mornings or just on startup when the engine is cold for a while now - and I have done a bit of searching and found that the problem seems to be with the fuel hoses under the Manifold? I have also noticed that the fuel consumtion seems to be not very good for an E-tune - Im only getting about 380kms or less on a tank Can people confirm that I will have to take the manifold off and how long a job this is? Cheers
  15. sorry - i\'m unsure of what file it is or how he did the timing
  16. Where would I get a Genome Oil Gauge?
  17. Looks a very nice car mate - Iv got one the same - just make sure its not detting and run it on 98
  18. that is good info - although I took my car to Subaru to have a pak file loaded into the ECU - but they couldn\'t do it because of some block that the japanese had apparenly given it - so the mechanic changed the timing slightly and although I have lost about 1 PSI of boost from this I dont notice it - especially since I put bigger Intercooler hoses on - in fact I would say it was quicker - and the good thing is is that its not detting anymore!! ;D
  19. On that car maybe - but definitely not on a street car - makes the driver look like a trihard......
  20. Its just not worth it for the costs of court costs - and having time off work you may as well just pay it
  21. Yes you are legally alowed to drive it if you are going to and from garages or WOF stations - see below What if my vehicle fails a WoF inspection? If your vehicle fails a WoF inspection and your old WoF has expired, you are not allowed to drive it on the road unless it is being operated solely for the purpose of obtaining a new WoF. This includes driving it to and from a garage in order to have the necessary repairs carried out. If you fix all the items that require attention within 28 days the vehicle will be re-inspected by the same WoF agent at no extra charge. If you exceed the 28 days from the initial inspection, a new fee and inspection is required. Note: This is a legal requirement. Source - http://www.vtnz.co.nz/FAQs
  22. Ok well - the other day I was driving around in my GTB, which at the time had no Reg or WOF, I had taken the car for a WOF but it failed for tyres and an exhaust leak - so I drove the car to Richmond Radiator & Exhausts - In Nelson to get this fixed, on the way a cop pulls me up and gives me a $300 ticket for having no REG or WOF. I forgot to show him the warrant sheet and tell him that I was going to the exhaust shop to get it fixed. I then wrote to the police and provided them evidence that I was going to the exhaust shop at the time and that the car was within the days of a WOF recheck - they wrote back saying I was required to get the car transported or towed to the mechanic. Can anyone say that they have heard of this regulation? I looked it up on VTNZ and Legislation.govt.nz and found that what the police say is total crud, why would they say this if it wasn\'t true?
