Replaced all the rotors and pads, flushed the fluid with new stuff, went for a road test then realized i hadn't adjusted the handbrake, so the rear came apart again
Awesome. All fitted up well then? Which brake fluid did you end up using?

Hmm, just done some quick google research and it appears you're right. I was under the impression every towbar had to be tested and certified for the vehicle it was being fitted to. How do you know what the towing capacity of your home-made or one-off towbar is? What grade of bolts to use?
I thought it was optional. You could adhere to a set standard if you wish and market it as such or sell it as is not meeting any standard.
Sounded pretty stupid to me.

I run 10w40 penrite mineral 5l on my forged rs, change it every 1000ks lmao because it gets absoutely thrashed the rare occasion it leaves the shed. plus when you drop 10k+ into a car you get paranoid.
Mineral is a horrible choice for any car especially one you beat on.

So thats to say a generic Redline reso would negatively affect power? Also should put it out there that its 6sp manual which according to some forums can affect exhaust note/tone.
Not necessarily. Some of the Chinese ones are S*** and cause restriction but may only be equivalent to what you cut out. Whereas adrenalinR are more of an upgrade while actually doing their job quietening down the exhaust.
Guessing that would have more of an effect on cruise rpm which would depend if that means it sits in the droney region.

If you get an adrenalinR resonator or muffler they actually work and dont negatively affect power.

Followed the internet's advise on intercooler piping popping out of silicon joints and used $6 worth of hair spray... ...very skeptical about this
Use real clamps not chinese ones.

Hmmm I wonder how long my vf22 will last at 17psi and anti-lag
That's a question only you can answer if it fails 😉

Poke a pin down it.

If water has sat in the box thats not great. Especially if residual water has been circulating with the fresh oil.

+1 also if the rocker seals weren't genuine Subaru Seals then they could be still leaking
Or shitty prep. Permaseal are good but it all depends if the surfaces are clean and you only use a tiny dab of silicon where required.

Yup, so just to clarify , the zut zut zut flutter noise is compressor surge? Or is there a different name for that?
Commonly called that but it's more what they call dose or flutter. Also caused by a back feed of air when throttle plate shuts if there's not enough bov or there isn't one at all.
Surge is when the turbo is spooling up too fast and the engine cant keep up with the airflow. It is when you are operating to the left of the surge line on a compressor map.
-
Sometimes the specialists are the better choice as even though the hourly is higher if they are what theyre meant to be it takes less time and less trial and error to diagnose and fix the issue.

-
If you have flutter it means the Bov is set too tight or doesnt flow enough. Fine line sometimes between too sift and flowing enough at lower throttle openings.
Easy way out is buy a holset and dont run a Bov then dose e'erday.

@THUNDA compressor surge is when you put your foot up it at low rpm and the turbo tries to force too much air into the engine which causes the compressor to chop the air. That's not real healthy for the turbo.
The dose pipe thing is bad for some turbos.
Easy way to tell between the 2 is ones on acceleration the others on lift off.

Is it a DCCD box?
Sounds far more like that than a stuffed centre.
Did it have 2 wires coming out of the centre casing?
