  1. what was the price out of interest?
  2. on that note, what is the alternative product apart from genuine?
  3. i can get 700km out of a tank. but it is a 70L tank!
  4. that doesn't sound very good. my 1500kg chaser with 200hp 2.5 straight 6 uses about the same, and i don't have a light foot
  5. V3-V4 and V5-V6 have been mentioned, but what about V1-V2 - how do they compare? I've read in a few places that GTB heads are the best flowing - Is this still believed to be the case? Stock for stock, how much of a difference does it really make between them all any way real world?
  6. bought a pretty painted manifold and all the bits needed for my car to finish wof and begin stages of becoming 2.5. wooo
  7. that's a confusingly worded post do you also mean that all filters lose mostly some HP over OEM paper a few times?
  8. no... a 10.8 second 1/4 mile, superlap winning levin actually.
  9. and i 800cc. but that shouldn't make too much diff with sensible driving. i'm sure we could both go through the 45L tank within 100k if we tried though lol
  10. not true. depends on the trim. i currently own a t3/t4 that should get that sort of number on an RB. Have also owned one that made 340kw on a 1.8
  11. Do you all drive everywhere in 1st gear? 1jz chaser - 100/10L 4age trueno - 100/8L wrx - 100/11.5L all 98 octane and well serviced
  12. lol by now you'd expect a reasonable understanding of how things work, rather than a 17yo kid who's just bought his first turbo car that said, i've had a few girls now, and still don't have a clue how they work
  13. I had a hairline crack on my VF30 and it was in very good condition otherwise. Ran very well, and I believe the person I sold it to had no issues too. But perhaps for piece of mind you should find one without. But then again, it may not be long until the one you get does exactly the same thing without you knowing. I've spoken to a mechanic that works on subarus alot, and he says nearly all VF30's he pulls off customer cars have this crack.
  14. you seem to be more interested in spending money just to say you have something cool sounding without actually getting any results. I.e, bigger turbo, bigger wastegate, bigger injectors. Yet, it seems things like tuning and computers are a turn off because they're expensive and don't sound as awesome. Well, fact is, computer and tuning is easily the single biggest factor to making power, reliability, and also fuel economy. If you get bigger injectors, you need a tunable computer, and then dyno tune. Same if you put on a bigger turbo. The fact you're winding up the boost and your car doesn't go any better is proving that your computer and probably fuel system are NOT coping with what you're forcing the engine to do.
  15. you can run 20psi on factory old shitty internals with success like i have for a few years now. however, you will also need to do fueling, cooling, computer and dyno tuning like i have. doing exactly what you've done is a fast track ticket to destroying your motor. this is what gives subaru's (and perhaps turbo cars) in general a bad name for breaking easy. run wastegate spring pressure, modify your car further to be able to support the boost and power, and then tune it, or destroy your motor. there's the options.
  16. it's only 50 to put a muffler on, so i'd say you got a larger pipe from the downpipe back too as well as the muffler supplied. jaime and gavin were my old flatmates. i can attest to how good they are. and they're very cheap too. they did all customwork on my car. twisted turbo, exhaust, headers. best looking twisted setup i've seen too.
  17. Sultan, you wouldn't be saying the same thing if your son was in that car. is this a subaru club or a parenting club? and no it's not a how long is a piece of string question. it's obviously not going to make 900kw. People have seen 300kw, so there is a good starting point for an answer for something that is achievable in the right conditions. it's not that hard of a topic that needs 8 pages of "you need to race it before you're allowed to even think or plan about doing anything else".
  18. i think he's ignoring people's advice for a reason question: how much power can a GDB sti motor handle? forum answer: who cares. you have enough. you're a noob and you can't already handle the power you have. go track race it what the hell kind of answer is that??? if he wants to get more power that's his own business. either you answer him with a proper answer, which would be something like "people in the states have seen close to 300kw with success on a stock block, but it depends on the condition of your motor, supporting mods, and most important the tune as to what you will be able to push to" or if you don't like him you ignore the bloody thread!
  19. this thread and all others this kid creates are funny, they all end the same way. how many other people on this site and on the planet as a whole are modifying their cars way beyond the means of which they ever really are going to need to use them? the majority that's for sure. and i don't see people throwing their toys around the sandpit at them. i think most of you are just jealous that a kid has a nice car. and you don't. what's that phrase being thrown around at the moment? tall poppy syndrome?
  20. I'm 23. When I was 21 I was with NAC and paid about what you do. I have a wreckless driving conviction and 4 or so losses from demerits. My car is a 94 wrx with 25grand or so thrown at it. Get a quote from Club Auto, it will be heaps cheaper for you if it was for me!
  21. i've been with NAC and now with ClubAuto. NAC is more expensive. Haven't had to claim on either so don't know about that aspect. Excessively modified wrx. Think I pay $1200/yr, valued at 15k. And i've had a few license losses in my youth too, so it's pretty good value I think. Any other company would just laugh until passing out.
  22. i love how you started the final line with a grammar error and ended with a "txt spk" haha
  23. personally i wouldn't have destroyed a good car. an integra or something would have been deserving
  24. amy - a pro might not use brightness/contrast, but it would also seem a pro cannot tell when her own pic is devirginalised ps do you work on marua rd? nice edit reuben. personally looking at the original i would have changed the hue on the cyan highlights to a darker blue
