  8. Quick way to test starter solenoid is to use a screwdriver and short across it (make sure car is in neutral!) from batt terminal on solenoid to starter terminal altho its pretty hard to get to in the subie....plenty of sparks and stater will come to life if brushes are ok. If brushes kaput, nothing will happen - check grounding wires for shits-n-giggles B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  9. Sounds like brushes - click is solenoid but with no contact to rotor, wouldnt turn over.. B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  10. Detailed Information on how to fix/repair/identify alternators of various sorts. Very useful in understanding how alternators work, how to troubleshoot regulators both internally and externally regulated. ALTERNATOR HANDBOOK Google Drive hosted version - PM me if you need a PDF which is a bit clearer. My project: (Videos) - 35AMP Nippondenso internals - Testing Alternator with no Regulator (Dont have one!) 11. Got back car from repair shop today after they fixed up tow bar hole- nice job and tacho only had less than a km on the clock On the other hand, spotted a loose primary-charger clamp by sheer luck....kind of peeved at shop guys who replaced my clutch a while back as hose could have come off at any time.... Pulled 1 degree of total timing and reset ecu/adjusted idle. Worked out why I only get wastegate-spring boost - some dork tinkered with boost hoses when he installed HKS standalone controller.... Thinking of returning to stock so I can tune it properly instead of just guessing what boost setting to use... B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  12. Im gonna go tactrix - chinese cable is ok to log but if it bricks my ECU while flashing, I would be a bit more than pissed lol
  13. Yeah thats the one! I got 2 on order from hong kong for 18 bucks incl shipping lol
  14. i swapped out my ecu plus some folding stuff for a new ecu as i couldn\'t access my ecu. quite possibly ecutec\'d, unsure. saved the tune that was on the ecu, flashed to stock, drove it for a bit, reflashed sp00ns image back on and damn. log, tinker, log, tinker, log, tinker, also helps that i have a reasonably extensive supply of stock and tuned ecu images from all over the world to play with, some around the 230kw mark with the correct mods, from several model years Sweet - what were you driving?
  15. Had a clutch put in by subtech in AKL a year and a half ago - wondering whether it was one of the crappy generic exedy ones - lots of shudder and smelled bad for longer than bedding should have...

  17. Any idea what level boost got to before it went into fail safe mode? (Boost control via BOV bypass I assume - or is it fuel/ignition cut?) Link to Twin Turbo information PDF: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1WNPjT7ZI3QYUpic3NpQ0s1NU0/edit?usp=sharing
  18. Have replaced sensor but cable died before I had chance to log some more. Sensor was a dud as you mentioned - CEL now off and engine much happier will log some more and put it up FYI when new cable arrives
  19. Ahh my bad have you done the BBOD clean up? Any CEL codes? ***Edit*** Hose 10 mod/after market BOV or stock?
  20. Have told them that I have recorded the tachometer reading so hope that helps....bit nervous leaving wheels at repairers....
