  1. Just 10% bio fuel. Someone can elaberate on that in depth. Ive never tuned on it always used BP98 for any of my cars that have been tuned as no Gull back home lol so cant go home :-[. reason I use it up here is a mate who does abit of tuning said it seems more resistant to knock compared to the BP98 from what he has compared so far. I have not tryed tuning with it so cant garentee/comment on his theory but my car daily GDB sure does seem to like it.
  2. I run Castrol Syntrax 75w90. Gr8 oil and never had any issues with it bite or mechanical damage wise providing your diff is mint in the 1st place.

lol. Might want to make a custom header gasket for the tri bolt flange then as mine came with a perferated type gasket. Make one out of thin copper sheet or similar. It worked fine but my EGBP's werent that high compared to what youl be runing with the boost and flow to achieve that power level. Just my input for a heads up to save one of thoes annoying things on the dyno day lol. Mind you they might of got smart and started selling them with a MLS up pipe to mani gasket from new now as I bought my set a little while ago but yeah just my thoughts lol

wow looks sexy!!! 850 for an exhaust manifold!! performance cars for you!!! no tight spencer for you jks lol. Yep thoes are the ones I have used before, good mani I say. Nevr pushed huge power thru them but worked well and never did me wrong so cant complain. Sounded still nice and subby like too
  5. Captain transporter website has a online calculator. I used them to get a road bike from chch to auckland for $520 odd inc full insurance on the move. Def not very cheep but thats the cook stright crossing for ya
  6. I use it at 1.3 Bar boost and have been for some time too..

There are a couple of versions they do, what ones you going with? (ive used 1 type in the past) and another very similar set to the others they do
  8. EJ20k is open deck, rest you hace correct if you are supplying the correct details about the car
  9. Toooooo many versions lol http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/v6/auction-415645610.htm There are V LTD STI and going by his description its from a sti. Ither way he should just get the seller to remove a cam cover 8 bolts and the 2 screw piston pin cover from the rear and turn the crank pully over till you see side of piston that way youl see if its cast or not. Highly doubt it will be tho if its original engine from the mentioned car
  10. Shim under Yes "semi forged" pistons Coil centre mounted Centre thrust crank Open deck
  11. would shed my 2c but everyone had different views so wont bother lol. FYI V3 Type R does not have the rear 2 pot brakes to my understanding and knowledge.
  12. on your second pic is that a gt35 ? thats a tastey turbo but on the first is that downpipe 2.5 inch ? looks tiny as Gt3082R (on a jason leifting machined and myself built block/engine) Never made it to final tune befor sale Yeah 2.5" but if you look close you can see it step into 3 inch stright after the 80 odd deg bend off the turbo. Knew itd flow what power I was after (turbo was capable of etc) with about 8 inch length of 2.5" lol. Shuda just dun it 3" for the fark of it but had the steel already from previous leftovers lol. Notice both cars had WORKING A/C too lol dont know why I love that sht so much haha
  13. Two of my old V5 STI's. Average pics I know but all I have on this computer lol.
  14. My V7 and V8 sti keys look like this: Dont think there can be much electronics inside that lol :. You can sometimes get a number thats stamped on the inside (back end) of one of the front door locks then get a key cut to that number. Usually a 4 digit number. Just get AA or yourself into the car vai window wedge etc then pull the door pannel off and lock out (15 min job) then youl know if yous has the numbers. (its workd in the past on other cars but havnet tryed a V7 ) Failing that you can just remove the door lock and take it to a GOOOD locksmith who will make a key to open it then 99.5% of the time that will fit your ignition aswell if theyr a good key maker ;D.
  15. Yep enough said lol. I just like the same dyno for before and after change of somthing etc.
  16. maby behind GC8 (id say almost garenteed) but definitly not behind GDB ones. We tryed I was ther lol. We tryed round MDF spaces then triangular ones then shaving them to angle up/down/left/right lol and no go!! We decided to just then space the speaker exactly enough to clear the window when it was down using 4 cubes of MDF for test purposes lol and you go to put the door card back on and nope touches the speaker surround rubber when the mounting clips are about inline with their holes but soon as u force it enough to go on you can feel it up aginst the speaker hard. (the fusions were actually 3mm odd from memory less deep then the pioneers are aswell)
  17. Exactly the problem lol, I was thinking of trying to find some V9 cards but then dam window switches etc had me stressting so gave up and doubt I would have found ither I tryed hunting back then but some one must have some of these somewhere lol? Old model but still one of the best. Try track you self some down and youl have about as good as your factory positioned front speakers will get and run well of a decent headunit. Used to have a pair in my old Type R honda
  18. Oh sweet, il member that for next time lol nah hopfuly wont be buying any more sounds in the near future lol. Just damn pain they wouldnt fit in the GD doors. I got my m8 (installer services) to try eveything with some fusions I had from my old car (almst exact same measuremnts and couldnt get them in!!! I couldnt mount them out to save money ither as id lost the grilles since they were door installed in a GC lol. Hope he finds some nice speakers that fit. The older Apline DD Drives would of ben my pic otherwise As for the brightness of the tweeters I agree but solved that by using the -3 dB selection on the crossovers . Then just tuned the EQ on the headunit abit and bingo happy
  19. Yeah?? thats a damn good price lol :'(. The cost of time lol, Obviously some1 is still trying to make a profit in the link below lol but according to this guy they were once $449 ?!!! lol. Scoping t.m best I could find is $200 but thats still half price. I was shocked after looking just thought to myself hey ill check trademe now days nd was like dam but ive had 9 months good sound so all g i spoze lol http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-stereos/speakers/pioneer/auction-413955968.htm
  20. They are TS-D1720C, were descibed best bang for buck if you can fit them by another mate in the industry so went with them and Rapid supported that theory lol. I 100% agree too, I know good sound and these definitly porduce good quality sound plus ill be deaf by the time these distort, Ive had them as loud as I feel comfortable with (without damaging my hearing I think lol) and they are still crystal clear. Being powered off a late model Alpine V12 (awesome speaker amp) and 16 gauge cable to all the doors. They even put a 30cm X 30cm square of Dynamat on the inside door skin ;D. Reccomended inner skin completeley and then small amount on outer skin but was like another $300 so flaged that lol
  21. Might be at a mates in howick tomoro for a short period of time. you be around during the day? might be able to have a 5 sec look
  22. Thanks guys lol. Yeah I have my old door cards sitting in the shed. Picked up two front ones off a STI being parted out for $25 ea so all good ;D. As yes they were going to and did cut the door cards. The speakers back then were $399 so yeh fair bit labour but not too bad as I saw there was definitly abit of work involved. I chose the colour etc I wanted stealth aswell but in reality they almost look factory (look better then the pics). kinda like how the version 9 cards protrude where the speaker sits. Tweeters are nice and highly mounted for good "sound stage" + blend in very well. The crossovers are mounted behind the cards as def wasnt going for a "wow look at me" install ither. Till you point them out you dont even really click the doors have a custom speaker install. Could be done for less now days tho as checking on t.m the price of the speakers has come down Oh and done by Rapid Radio in Auckland
  23. Fair enough!! what notes did they ignore if you dont mind me asking? about what you found in the turbo??.Thats the thing with any semi large place, its not a one man band sort of thing and when I speak for torque its only about dave himself not the others there lol, typical large ish workshop
  24. I had this same mish but wantd good sound setup as I love my music lol. Anything behind a plastic V7/8 door card will strugle to sound super nice but yeah I ended up having to go with pods but were definitly worth the money if you want good sound/decent size woofer and intend to run them off an amp. Just incase you wana spend the money . Cost me $819 ish installed (just checked recipt lol in January)
